This assignment is funded by the Benue State Government, Nigeria.
Therefore, specific eligibility criteria apply:
– Only Benue state citizens resident in Nigeria are eligible to apply.
WHO Nigeria is providing technical assistance on developing strategic guidance, guidelines and transforming policy to actions to improve health outcomes in the country. This scope of effort includes the different aspects of effective control and subsequent elimination of high priority communicable and noncommunicable diseases in the country.
Task description
Under the direct supervision of the Team Lead (communicable and noncommunicable diseases) , the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
• Support the tracking of programme implementation, preparation of technical briefing/meeting/workshop/capacity building, regular reports (weekly, monthly, etc.) and facilitate the timely submission of technical reports
• Support preparation of regular disease specific team meeting, a cluster meeting and follow up on agreed actions
• Support analysis of disease situation, programmatic gaps and proposal development
• Facilitate coordination among different health programmes in UCN as well as across the clusters in WHO office (external relations, programme management, strategic health information, etc.), support integration, exchange of information and explore potential collaborative links
• Enhance partnerships with government counterparts, stakeholders and private sec-tor to elevate the momentum for achieving the national health goals.
