icddr,b is a Bangladesh-based international health research institute that strives to solve key public health problems through high-quality scientific research and innovation. icddrb as a values-based organization encourages women and people with disabilities.

The primary objective of the project which is under Programme for Emerging Infection is to track the causes of under-5 mortality and stillbirths at selected population sites in Bangladesh. In addition, the project will estimate overall and cause-specific mortality rates in order to generate and share knowledge that improves understanding and prevention of under-5 child mortality.

Key Responsibilities:

The Programmer reporting to Analyst Programmer will be mainly responsible for following duties and responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with researchers to understand the requirements/data needs and process-flow of the projects;
  • Finalize the process-flow/programming logic for each problem;
  • Design database using SQL Server and develop applications using C#, Angular, ASP.NET, .NET Core MVC, Web API;
  • Update application according to the new requirements;
  • Develop Android based application using Native Android (Java/kotlin), SQLite. Share data with researcher according to their needs;
  • Prepare detailed technical document of the design;
  • Setup production environment and perform back-end administrative tasks in order to utilize those software as per need;
  • Train up the users on usage of software application and data capture devices;
  • Collect feedback from users on existing programs for any changes required and make necessary changes;
  • Develop application installation into the devices;
  • Provide continuous support for user queries on the field;
  • Provide required technical trainings to ensure smooth operation and continual improvement for the end users;
  • Setup test environment and conduct trial tests to check for robustness of the program and check for accuracy;
  • Check data inconsistency according to the requirements and logic;
  • prepare report highlighting the errors and correct the errors found in order to make error-free programs.

Required qualification and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS/CSE/ICE or a relevant subject.
  • 4 years of experience in the software development domain in a reputed organization, with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and conduct field visits.
  • Must have knowledge in developing using C#, Angular, ASP.NET, .NET Core MVC, Web API, and SQL Server databases.
  • Understanding of Windows Server, Server Backup management & IIS is preferable.
  • Prior knowledge in Android application development using Native Android (Java/Kotlin) and SQLite will be preferred.
