An exciting opportunity exists for a Programs and Marketing Coordinator, with relevant skills and experience, to join the NECCHi team and support community development initiatives and social connection across our two Neighbourhood Houses in the north of Melbourne (Naarm).

THE ROLE

The Programs and Marketing Coordinator supports the achievement of NECCHi’s strategic and operational goals by designing, delivering and evaluating innovative programs that build on community strengths and marketing these effectively to our key communities. Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Developing and implementing an annual marketing plan
  • Producing marketing collateral / assets (e.g. brochures / flyers, video, social media tiles, posters etc.) to a high standard
  • Managing NECCHi’s social media accounts and website
  • Designing and delivering a yearly program of community strengthening activities
  • Writing copy and proof-reading reports and House communications
  • Organising and promoting community events
  • Coordinating program evaluation and analysing marketing strategies
  • Engaging and supporting facilitators to support program delivery.
  • Overseeing the NECCHi ticketing system and coordinating program administration tasks.
  • Monitoring program and marketing budgets to achieve NECCHi’s financial goals
  • Preparing statistics and reports as directed by the Manager

salary and benefits

  • Permanent part-time position (28hrs/week)
  • Work days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
  • Salary range is $82,044 – $88,288 pro rata per annum, based on skills and experience + superannuation.
  • Annual leave loading of 17.5%
  • 4 weeks annual leave per annum with the option of purchasing up to an additional 4 weeks leave per annum (i.e. 48/52 arrangement)

ABOUT NECCHI

NECCHI (Newlands and East Coburg Community Hubs Inc.) is a community run, member-based, not for profit organisation and registered charity operating out of two unique neighbourhood houses on the unceded land of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people.

We are committed to delivering bold initiatives to advance social justice and sustainability. NECCHi houses and gardens aim to be inclusive and respectful spaces where awesome things happen to promote care for one another and the environment, build strong connections and deepen our understanding of what it means to live, work and play on Wurundjeri Country.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Someone who can uphold the values of the organisation and demonstrate these in practice to support the achievement of NECCHi’s goals.
  • A person with an eye for detail and passion for creating visually engaging content in line with NECCHi’s values, brand and aesthetic.
  • Excellent digital literacy skills – Must be proficient in Microsoft 365 and CANVA (or similar) and have an aptitude for using a range of software packages/applications including ticketing and/or website platforms and databases to coordinate the delivery of programs and marketing schedules.
  • Experience using Dropbox / Wix / Humanitix / SpacetoCo / Airtable (Desirable).
  • Commitment to maintaining privacy and confidentiality and to working sensitively and respectfully in a community setting.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a team to achieve NECCHi goals and meet deadlines.
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise across all levels, both internally and externally, and with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Highly-developed written communication skills with the ability to produce reports, write copy and proof read documents
  • Existing connections with Coburg and/or surrounding community & arts groups/organisations will be advantageous.
  • Understanding of community development principles to develop innovative and responsive programs in a community setting, and ability to draw on networks to creatively grow programs and increase community participation
