Scope of Work:

The Project Analyst shall perform the following:

Technical Guidance:

  • Under the guidance of the Programme Coordinator, lead overall project implementation;
  • Ensure coherence and sustainability of the different Project components considering the appropriateness of the integrated livelihood and socioeconomic infrastructure with the nature and delivery modality of complementary interventions including business development support and soft skills training on leadership, conflict management and SGBV prevention for women-led businesses, and legal aid, information, and protection services to women entrepreneurs; 
  • Provide technical support and leadership to service providers and partners.

Coordination and Management:

  • Coordinate the implementation of project activities and partners ensuring the achievement of milestones as per the work plan and in the quality expected;
  • Foster and strengthen cooperation and coordination between the project’s diverse stakeholders and beneficiaries to ensure successful project implementation;
  • Monitor risks and undertake mitigation measures to reduce exposure and impact of risks on the project.

Monitoring and Knowledge Management

  • Ensure accurate records of project outputs and impacts as well as regularly report on progress, best practices, lessons learned, success stories and field observations;
  • Undertake regular monitoring activities, keep track of achievements and lessons learned, provide regular updates/reports of project achievements, and produce human interest stories;
  • Prepare (substantive and financial) donor reports. 

The following are the minimum deliverables of the Project Analyst:

  • Establishment of operational integrated livelihood and socioeconomic centers that have integrated services including business development services, economic activities and SGBV support desks;
  • Delivery of business development support services and soft skills training on leadership, conflict management and SGBV prevention for women led entrepreneurs;
  • Provision of legal aid, information and protections services in the livelihood and socioeconomic centers;
  • Capacity building of law enforcement officers on SGBV prevention, response, and case handling.

Institutional Arrangements

  • As part of the StaRR Unit, the Project Analyst will be under the direct supervision of the Programme Coordinator, with matrix reporting to the Chief Programme Adviser and the Team Leader. S/he will be part of the Youth and Women Employment and Empowerment Portfolio and will work in close collaboration with STARR unit, particularly portfolio personnel, country office program colleagues and partners.

Requirements:

Minimum education requirements:

  • Advanced University Degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Management, Gender, Development Studies, Law, Social Sciences, or other relevant disciplines or;
  • A first level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in the above fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree..

Minimum years of relevant work experience:

  • Up to 2 years (with master’s degree) or Minimum 2 years (with bachelor degree) of relevant experience in GBV prevention, protection, livelihood and entrepreneurial skills development; VSLA and cooperative development; and community engagement.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent skills/experience in multi-sectoral programming.

Desired skills in addition to the competencies covered in the Competencies section:

  • Experience in recovery and resilience programming in fragile contexts;
  • Extensive experience on livelihoods in fragile context; 
  • Broad understanding of SGBV and protection dynamics in South Sudan.

Language

  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills in English and excellent oral communication skills in Arabic are mandatory.
