The International Finance Corporation (IFC) – a member of the World Bank Group – is the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets. It works in more than 100 developing countries, using capital, mobilization capacity, expertise, and influence to create jobs and raise living standards for people.

With SECO’s support, IFC’s Vietnam Supply Chain Finance Development Phase 1 (2018-24) introduced supply chain finance (SCF) through regulatory support, advisory work with commercial banks, and capacity building for local banks, SMEs, and anchors. Phase 1 achieved the introduction of SCF solutions but lacked structure, limiting their impact. Phase 2 aims to scale SCF operations, improve credit and risk management, and introduce SCF to new market players like Nonbanking financial institution (NBFIs) and Fintechs.

As Project Analyst you support IFC as follows:

  • Assist with client relationships, project management, and business planning in SCF and Climate sectors;

  • Support development of strategic plans and procurement of resources;

  • Conduct research, due diligence, and business development efforts;

  • Help organize trainings, events, and manage logistics;

  • Monitor projects, analyze data, and support internal/external communications;

  • Etc.

Part of the Talent programme “Swiss Youth at the United Nations / World Bank Group“, this position is sponsored by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). An International UN Youth Volunteer contract ensures that travel, relocation and UN health insurance costs are covered. Additionally, a monthly living allowance is paid. Skills required

For the programme:

  • Swiss nationality;
  • Master’s degree;
  • Ideally 12 months of relevant professional experience (min. 3 months – max. 24 months);
  • Max. 28 years old at the date of application;
  • Excellent command of English and 2 official Swiss languages (one active = C1/C2, one passive = A2/B1);
  • Proven interest in joining the international cooperation sector.
  • Driving license for PHRD financed positions.

For this position:

  • Master’s degree in economics, finance, business or related field;
  • Demonstrated interest and/or experience (ideally one year) in banking, consulting or another fast-paced, knowledge-based work environment; or related areas;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and sound business judgment to identify issues and present creative and practical solutions;
  • Fluent in English.

Application deadline: 22 April 2025

First round of interviews carried out by cinfo: between 13 May and 22 May 2025

Final selection: made by the host organisation based on cinfo’s recommendation and a second interview with them. Selected candidates will be informed towards the end of June 2025.

Onboarding and training: The onboarding process will start after the selection. Selected candidates will have to attend mandatory predeparture training in August.

Entry on duty: Departure is possible after the mandatory training. The final departure date will be discussed after the selection and depends on several factors.
