Under the general guidance of the Head, Transition and Recovery Division, the overall supervision of the Program Coordinator, the administrative supervision of the Head of Sub Office (HoSO) and the direct supervision of the National Operations Officer (EDF), the incumbent will perform following duties:
Core Functions / Responsibilities
Support the assessment of environmental sustainability and environmental risks of private sector beneficiaries under the IOM Enterprise Development Fund (EDF) Programme.
Assist in the development of suitable risk mitigation plans pertaining to the identified risks in coordination with the relevant teams, and present for approval.
Assist in the monitoring of the implementation of the ESMF for the relevant EDF beneficiaries.
Liaise with the engineering and livelihood teams engaged in project implementation.
Assist the review of supplier offers provided by EDF applicants as part of their application to the EDF programme.
Participate in all necessary field surveys, site examinations and necessary evaluations for infrastructure under EDF.
Support in identifying infrastructure needs in the targeted communities through participating in the community’s assessments.
Conduct joint field visits with other relevant team members as well as, community structures to assess the needs of the target communities (IDPs, returnees and host community residents).
Support in drafting the initial rehabilitation plan for designated infrastructure project including intended work needed with BOQs.
Perform such other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited academic university or institution with three years of relevant experience, or
School diploma with five years of relevant experience.
Experience and Skills:
Experience, working on implementing civil engineering projects in Iraq.
Previous working experience with any of the United Nations Organizations, Non-Governmental Organization or relevant government department is a distinct advantage.
Proficiency and experience creating structure design with AutoCAD, experience in preparing BOQ and estimation cost for construction projects.
Experience in developing and implementing Environmental and Social Management Frameworks.
Ability to draft clearly and concisely.
Proficiency in Microsoft office function.
Languages:
Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
