The Role:

 

Oxfam GB -Iraq Program looking for a Project Assistants to supports the implementation, coordination, and reporting of the GIZ-funded project in Salah ad Din governorate. Under the supervision of the Senior Project Officer, the Project Assistant assists in organizing project activities, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring the achievement of project objectives.

An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:

 

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as economics, finance, sustainable development, or international development.
  • Previous experience or strong interest in financial literacy, financial inclusion, renewable energy, or related fields is desirable.
  • Basic understanding of financial concepts and practices, as well as renewable energy technologies and their applications.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic languages (written and spoken).
  • Ability to travel and work in challenging environments.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Technical Skills:

  • Financial literacy: Support delivery of tailored financial literacy sessions and training on e-payment tools.
  • Financial inclusion: Assist in promoting access to green financial products/services for MSME owners and women entrepreneurs.
  • Renewable energy: Contribute to awareness campaigns and pilot initiatives on renewable energy adoption, including solar energy systems.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Collaborate with local stakeholders to ensure the relevance and effectiveness of financial literacy and renewable energy initiatives.

Other

  • Required to adhere to Oxfam’s principles and values as well as the promotion of gender justice and women’s rights
  • Understanding of and commitment to adhere to equity, diversity, gender, child safety and staff health and wellbeing principles.

 

Desirable

  • Experience in building the capacity of the team internally and of external stakeholders;
  • Experience in working and jointly implementing projects involving local authorities and/or organizations as implementing partners.
  • Proficiency in English language will be an asset (both spoken and writing)
