Organizational Setting

Ashor Iraqi Foundation for Relief and Development was registered in the Department of Non- Governmental Organizations after the institution’s cadre was a volunteer team, and its registration came as a result of the urgent societal need of the society of the western governorates (Nineveh, Baghdad , Salah Al-Din, Anbar, Dyala and Basrah) due to the circumstances it went through and the difficulties it faced through the exposure of these The governorates have witnessed many security incidents, wars and conflicts, which resulted in displacement and mass migration from many cities in those governorates, due to the occupation of their lands by terrorist groups, and the resulting problems generated many economic hardships and social problems.

 

Most of them were classified as marginalized and weak groups and were unable to obtain their rights Constitutional and legal, in addition to the deteriorating economic situation of it, and from these circumstances, the Foundation emerged in the areas of displacement to work to provide aid and aid to the displaced, and then the Foundation moved to direct work in the rehabilitation of cities after their liberation after 2014.

 

 

Position Summary & Reporting Lines:

The Project Assistant will support field implementation, coordination with local stakeholders, and activity monitoring under the supervision of Project Manager.

Part-time contract: 60% Level of Effort (LOE).

 

Main Responsibilities & Duties

  1. Field Implementation Support
  • Assist in organizing and implementing field activities, including trainings, community meetings, and dialogue sessions.
  • Support logistics arrangements (venues, materials, attendance, coordination with vendors).
  • Facilitate communication with beneficiaries and participants.
  1. Coordination & Communication
  • Liaise with local authorities, municipalities, community leaders, and civil society actors.
  • Support coordination with project stakeholders at district level.
  • Maintain regular communication with project participants and community groups.
  1. Community Engagement
  • Support community mobilization efforts and awareness activities.
  • Assist in implementing soft components and community-led initiatives.
  • Ensure inclusive participation of youth, women, and vulnerable groups.
  1. Monitoring & Reporting
  • Track progress of activities at field level and report updates to supervisors.
  • Collect data, attendance sheets, photos, and other supporting documentation.
  • Prepare brief activity reports and field notes.
  1. Compliance & Safeguarding
  • Ensure activities comply with project guidelines, donor requirements, and E&S standards.
  • Support implementation of accountability and grievance mechanisms.
  • Uphold safeguarding principles and ethical conduct at all times.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in NGOs, community work, or project support roles.
  • Experience working with local authorities and community stakeholders is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and in field-based environments.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.

Languages & Tools

  • Arabic fluency required.
  • Basic English skills preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools.

Other Requirements

  • Residency in respective duty location (Baghdad or Basra).
  • Willingness to travel within project areas.
  • Ability to work flexible hours when needed.
  • High integrity and commitment to safeguarding policies .
