The Senior Project Assistant will act as a project associate for the GCF NAP Readiness project for Fiji and for the Fiji climate change adaptation support project through an NDC Partnership (NDCP) funded project. The Senior Project Assistant will also provide support to the GCF Readiness Officer for the coordination of CBA trainings and strategies for
For the GCF NAP Readiness project the Senior Project Assistant will support hiring and managing the consultants for the development, delivery, and assessment of adaptation related work programs and activities at country level. Moreover, the Senior Project Assistant will  support the review of the GCF NAP Readiness outputs notably the report on linkages between Low Emission Development and the Adaptation Plan, training for local authorities, feasibility studies for coastal resilience. The Senior Project Assistant will also maintain effective program reporting and communication internally and externally in line with GGGI corporate policies, standards and protocols.
The Senior Project Assistant will report to the Regional Adaptation Lead based in the GGGI office in Suva and work closely with the GCF NAP Readiness Officer 
For the GCF NAP project:
  • Support the GCF NAP Readiness Officer in the operational tasks related to hiring consultant and external contractors,
  • Support the technical reporting and monitoring using GGGI’s systems, and
  • Track and be responsible for financial budgeting and expenditures according to grant the agreement.
For the Pacific Island Nature-based Solutions (PPIN) work project:
  • Support the coordination of Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) for NbS work trainings and stakeholder consultations with the GCF NAP Readiness Officer.
For the NDC Partnership Adaptation work project:
  • Support the coordination of stakeholder meetings with consultants to provide input into concept notes for the Adaptation Fund.
  • Support technical reporting and monitoring using GGGI’s systems, and
  • Track and be responsible for financial budgeting and expenditures according to grant the agreement.
Engagement:
  • Advise the team on the procedures, policies, and tools of all operational transactions for project/output delivery
  • Identify issues and risks that will affect consistent program and delivery and report to the manager
  • Identify issues from across projects and workstreams and advise project staff on remedial measures in order to maintain integrity of delivery;
  • Communicate program needs to service providers/suppliers and ensure that services/products are delivered in line with established agreements.
Delivery:
  • Develop and manage detailed budget execution plans and schedules in line with yearly work programs and budget lines.
  • Develop and monitor procurement plans and requisition procedures in line with yearly work programs and budget lines.
  • Support the development of project hiring plan
  • Place initial screening and controls on project spending, procurement requests and contract issuance.
  • Verify data and ensure data entry and document consistency from spending and expenses of specific project/output management.
  • Maintain program filing system and safeguard standards of reporting/documentary quality to support reporting to donors and program stakeholders.
  • Consolidate financial documentation for projects and ensure accuracy of project financial reporting. 
Requirements:
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in business administration, finance, accounting, human resources, or other related field of study required.
  • Preferably 3 years of program experience in the development sector in Fiji.
  • Good working knowledge of Fiji Government and institutions.
  • Certifications in accountancy, project management, human resources management, procurement, database management, information technology systems, knowledge management/communications welcome.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional work experience relevant to this position,
  • Experience working with an international organization will be an important advantage.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
