TXM Recruit are working with a leading Engineering company based in Milton Keynes to support with a key hire within their Procurement team.

Role Overview:
To undertake the Purchasing of commodities and services required for defined projects and to manage the operational relationships with production and suppliers associated to these projects in accordance with the sourcing strategies

Role Structure:
Led by the Head of Procurement & Supply Chain and as directed by the responsible Project Manager, reporting directly into the Purchasing Manager

Role Responsibilities:

  • Attend Vis Board Project Meetings.
  • Raise Request for Engineering works as required
  • Order book and shortage report management for specific projects.
  • Maintaining good supplier relationships and attending meetings where performance issues arise
  • Update suppliers of drawing changes (ECO)
  • Processing returns- NCR’s
  • Processing overhaul material in a timely manner
  • Raising Transport requests
  • Ensuring material planning is aligned with actual Project programme dates
  • Project mobilisation against the defined Project production plan.
  • Tender support as required
  • Working within the defined project materials budget, whilst seeking to reduce total cost of supply through the application of best Purchasing practice and minimising risk to the company arising from these activities.
  • Report on Key Performance Indicators as defined by the Purchasing Manager
  • Achieving cost Reduction measures.
  • Attend Monthly project review meetings and project Kick off meetings as required
  • Dealing with urgent nonstock requirements as they arise
  • Resolving invoice queries

Role Requirements:

  • Educated to Degree or equivalent and/or Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) preferable.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a project driven manufacturing or service environment
  • Good understanding of the operations of Purchasing and Materials Planning, Projects, Production, Quality and Materials controls.
  • Knowledge of contract formulation, terms and conditions, and strong negotiation techniques.
  • Experience of working in a fast pace environments and on multiple projects at one given time.
