Position

Ocean Energy Europe is looking for a Project Communications Manager to support the growing communication team working on our EU-funded projects.

The Project Communications Manager leads the communications and project management tasks on several EU-funded projects in which Ocean Energy Europe is a partner. The role entails a significant amount of copywriting and editing, so a very high standard of written English is required.

This position is embedded in our dynamic and experienced communication team who has put ocean energy, a nascent sector, on the European map. Our collaborative and supportive culture values everyone’s ideas and empowers personal and professional growth. The team operates as a self-managing unit, reporting directly to the CEO.

Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Produce project deliverables on time and oversee project budgets for OEE tasks/Work Packages;
  • Prepare, attend and present at project meetings;
  • Coordinate with project partners;
  • Monitor and compile dissemination data including activities of project partners;
  • Draft and submit financial and technical reports to EC Project communication & dissemination.

Public project deliverables

  • Develop and monitor communication and dissemination plans;
  • ‘Translate’ project results into accessible summaries;
  • Communicate public deliverables and key results via the project channels;
  • Coordinate broader dissemination of results with project partners.

Events

  • Organise webinars, project workshops and dissemination events;
  • Coordinate project participation in external events – presentations, stands, side events.

Website, media & social media

  • Draft copy and prepare graphics for social media posts and website updates;
  • Maximise social media followers via engagements, ad campaigns etc.;
  • Maintain and regularly update project websites and social medial channels;
  • Draft and send press releases, newsletters, manage mailing lists;
  • Compile and draft content for project publications (leaflets, end-of-project summary brochures etc.), manage design process with external designer;
  • Coordinate video production for basic ‘explainer’ and/or project showcase videos;
  • Monitor and collect analytics of website, social media, newsletters, etc.

Other tasks to support the team

  • Support with reporting to OEE Board meeting;
  • Assist the OEE team in other relevant project, communications or events tasks.

Qualifications

  • University degree in relevant field (communications, event management, project management…);
  • Mandatory: Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role dealing with EU-funded projects;
  • Mandatory: Excellent written English – native speaker or equivalent;
  • Asset: Working knowledge of other European languages, esp. French, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch.

  • Strongly team-minded, including when working with external partners;
  • Open and positive personality;
  • Able to travel when required;
  • Stress-resistant and solution-oriented, with great attention to detail;
  • Well-organised, able to prioritise and work to deadlines;
  • A genuine interest in renewable energy/environmental issues is desirable.

Conditions

  • Salary range: 44-55k€ gross annual, depending on experience, on a 13.92 months Belgian contract;

  • Unlimited contract, based in Brussels at OEE offices;
  • Teleworking policy: 2-3 days working from home on a weekly basis, workload dependent;
  • Start: ASAP.
