International Transformation Foundation, Inc. is a Houston-based, 501 (C) (3) non-profit organization that provides Americans with an opportunity to actively support communities in Africa by helping them access clean and affordable drinking water. As a sister organization to the International Transformation Foundation in Africa, this expansion into the USA also seeks to offer young people in the United States of America educational, cultural, and social volunteering opportunities.
Our main mission is setting up water kiosks at schools and public drinking water fountains in communities across Kenya and Rwanda. For every project, we send young people (high school, College or university students or recent graduates) from the USA to the location where these projects take place in Africa to be part of the implementation in an internship-like program where they gain a unique cross-cultural experience, personal and professional growth.
We also offer personalized fundraising focused trips for individuals and organizations to be a part of the implementation of these water kiosks and drinking water fountains
Project coordinator
This is a short term, outreach and engagement position inviting anyone in the United States to be part of our mission. The role is to fundraise for a specific project (A water Kiosk at school or public drinking water Fountain) in the country where we operate in Africa. When the fundraising campaign is successful, get to travel to the project location/community to be part of the project implementation. During the trip, the participant (s) are expected to provide project administrative support alongside our volunteer staff members at the local ITF office and have an option to contribute unskilled and skilled labor alongside projects benefiting community members.

Through this position, we are partnering pretty with everyone in individual and or in institutional capacity for the most rewarding experience. We tailor each trip based on who is traveling and involved in the fundraising campaign.
Role:
The role is to accompany a specific community project (A water kiosk at school or a public drinking water fountain) from start to finish. Planning, fundraising, implementation, and monitoring phases as a lead person.
The main duty is to develop and implement a project work plan that includes:
- Fundraising
- Planning, implementing, and coordinating events/activities/strategies meant to raise direct project implementation funding.
- Creating marketing materials, like flyers and brochures, to be used for the promotion of fundraising events/activities and project implementation.
- Build upon existing donor relationships and form new donor and community relationships on a regular basis.
- Project administration and implementation
- Plan and coordinate project implementation activities.
- Prepare project documentation including progress, completion, and monitoring reports.
- Monitoring and evaluating the project (tracking timelines, milestones, and deliverables).
- Working with other volunteers towards shared project and organizational targets.
Qualifications:
Prior experience is preferred, but not required. Though, the applicant must demonstrate, that the essential functions of this position can be performed:
- Preferably, but not required, experienced in fundraising and project coordination.
- Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on results.
- Self-confidence, flexibility, integrity, and honesty.
- Ability to work well independently, works with all levels of management, and can resolve problems.
- Culturally sensitive,
- The applicant needs to be empathetic, a great communicator, and comfortable working as part of a team towards shared goals and targets.
Benefits:
Currently all our core staff members are strictly volunteer based. There is no financial compensation available at the moment. The available benefits include those related to personal, professional growth through this work experience and possibilities to travel to project locations.
