Nexus ER is an Italian NGO that carries out international cooperation activities to contribute to improving the quality of life and strengthening democratic institutions with full respect for cultural diversity and the principle of self-determination of peoples. Nexus ER, in addition to its work in the Middle East, operates in Africa, Latin America, and the Mediterranean area.

Project description

Promoting Peaceful Coexistence, Protection and Interfaith Dialogue in Niger” is a project funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and has the overall objective of supporting Christian communities, through responding to basic needs, protecting rights, promoting socio-economic inclusion, promoting reconciliation and interfaith dialogue. The lead partner is MEDU, Nexus is its partner and is in charge of the implementation of activities under Outcome 2 Enhance opportunities for social inclusion and peaceful coexistence between migrant communities and the local population.

Main duties

  • Overall supervision and coordination of Nexus project activities in the field, in coordination with Nexus headquarters in Italy and the project leader MEDU, in order to ensure that project objectives are achieved within the planned timelines and parameters;
  • Management of project budget and administrative procedures according to AICS and Nexus procedures in coordination with Nexus headquarters in Italy;
  • Accounting and financial supervision of the project: expenses recording, planning of on-site transfers, guiding and controlling procurement procedures of project partners, accounting reporting;
  • Monitoring and evaluation: interim and final reports both narrative and financial according to AICS and Nexus rules; finalization of all project management documentation and regular transmission to headquarters in Italy.

Requirements

  • Qualification: bachelor’s degree. A degree in international cooperation, international studies, human mobility will be an asset;
  • Degree of relevant experience: at least 3 years of experience as a field project leader in international cooperation. Project management on the topic of human mobility will be an asset;
  • Administrative and monitoring experience;
  • Experience and familiarity with PRAG AICS procedures will be an asset;
  • Excellent knowledge of French language. Knowing of Italian language will be an asset;
  • Strong organizational skills and professional independence;
  • Diplomatic and negotiation skills.
