Position Summary

ARCD is seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Coordinator to oversee and manage operations and projects in Niger. The successful candidate will identify areas needing intervention, conduct needs assessments, coordinate with contractors, and ensure the successful implementation of projects. This role requires a proactive individual with strong project management skills and excellent English communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Reporting and Documentation (Primary)

  • Prepare and submit detailed periodic progress reports for all ongoing projects, including photos and videos.

·        Conduct periodic/weekly projects site visits.

  • Prepare orphan files and related documentation per set standards and submit them to the regional office.
  • Provide comprehensive final reports on completed projects, including impact assessments and lessons learned.

2. Needs Assessment and Identification

  • Identify locations in Niger requiring intervention and support.
  • Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to determine project feasibility and specific requirements.

3. Project Coordination and Implementation

  • Coordinate with contractors to ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and specifications.
  • Monitor project activities and provide regular updates to ensure projects are progressing as planned.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination among all stakeholders, including local authorities and community members.

4. Community Engagement

  • Engage with community leaders and members to ensure projects align with local needs and priorities.
  • Organize and facilitate community meetings and feedback sessions to gather input and foster community ownership.

5. Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all projects meet ARCD’s quality standards and are completed within scope, time, and budget.
  • Conduct site visits to verify project progress and the quality of work performed by contractors.

Qualifications

  1. A university degree in a relevant field (e.g., Project Management, Engineering, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related disciplines).
  2. Proven experience in project management; experience in construction and infrastructure projects is an advantage. INGO experience is an advantage.
  3. Excellent command of English, both written and spoken. Proficiency in local languages is an advantage.
  4. Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  6. Proficiency in using project management tools and software.
