About the role

We are seeking a Project Coordinator based in Haiti to support the development of the capabilities of the Police nationale d’Haiti (PNH). In this role, you will collaborate with national and international stakeholders in Haiti to manage the logistics of capacity building efforts both domestically and internationally.

It’s an exciting time to join ARK, as we explore our expansion in Haiti for 2024. As part of this growing new project, you’ll have exposure to additional responsibilities and staff supervision that will ensure the successful delivery of other projects.

As Project Coordinator, you will report directly to the Operations Manager of the project, who is based in Canada. Together, you will ensure that the project’s objectives are achieved effectively, efficiently, and in compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.

Under the direction of the project’s Operations Manager, as Project Coordinator you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating ARK activities in Haiti, including the supervision of the Haiti-based staff and the delivery of the project’s objectives;
  • Developing and sustaining relations with stakeholders necessary to the success of the ARK project;
  • Overseeing donor and internal ARK reporting;
  • Developing appropriate monitoring and evaluation tools and processes for ARK activities in Haiti;
  • Acting as the security focal point for ARK activities in Haiti; and,
  • Supporting the development and implementation of future ARK projects in Haiti.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience

  • Extensive management experience within humanitarian assistance, development programmes or public service;
  • Security management experience;
  • Experience of managing teams of people;
  • Experience of liaising with government officials, donors, partners and other agencies, contractors and suppliers;
  • Experience with developing monitoring and evaluation tools and reports for project performance tracking and reporting;
  • Strong writing skills;
  • Budgetary control and financial management skills;
  • Fluency in French and Creole;
  • Working fluency in English.

Desirable:

  • Experience as country director or technical coordinator at country level in humanitarian, development, public service or relevant private sector in Haiti;
  • Experience with liaising with the Police Nationale d’Haiti and ministries of Justice and Interior;
  • Fluency in English.
