Project coordinator

Background

The Ashor Iraqi Foundation for Relief and Development has been awarded a sub-grant under the Nabni – Building for Peace (B4P) Facility to support the Co-Design Phase of the project. The project aims to promote peacebuilding and development in Iraq through collaborative analysis, community engagement, and the development of a full project proposal. The Ashor Foundation is responsible for implementing key activities, including dialogue sessions, validation workshops, and technical assessments in Baghdad.

Objectives of the Position

The Project Coordinators will be responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, and monitoring of project activities in Baghdad. He / She will ensure that project deliverables are achieved on time, within budget, and in compliance with the Sub-Grant Agreement and donor requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Implementation:
   • Oversee the implementation of project activities as outlined in the Sub-Grant Agreement and workplan.
   • Coordinate and facilitate dialogue and validation sessions, Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), and other community engagement activities in Al-Dora districts.
   • Ensure the inclusion of local authorities and stakeholders in project activities.
   • Support the development of technical feasibility assessments and provide input into the Full Project Proposal.

 

2. Team Management:
   • Supervise and support field researchers and research assistants, ensuring they adhere to project timelines and deliverables.
   • Provide guidance and training to field staff on data collection, community engagement, and reporting.
   • Ensure that all team members comply with the Foundation’s Code of Conduct and project guidelines.

 

3. Monitoring and Reporting:
   • Monitor project progress and ensure that activities are implemented according to the approved workplan and budget.
   • Prepare and submit monthly progress reports, including narrative and financial reports, to the Head pf programs.
   • Maintain accurate records of project activities, outputs, and outcomes, and ensure that all data is properly documented and reported.

 

4. Financial and Procurement Management:
   • Assist in the preparation of expenditure forecasts and ensure that project funds are utilized in accordance with the approved budget.
   • Oversee procurement processes in compliance with the Nabni Procurement Guidelines and ensure that all purchases are properly documented.
   • Ensure that all financial transactions are supported by original receipts, invoices, and other relevant documentation.

 

5. Stakeholder Engagement:
   • Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, community leaders, and other stakeholders in Al-Dora districts.
   • Represent the Foundation in meetings, workshops, and other events related to the project.
   • Ensure that all stakeholders are informed about project activities and outcomes.
6. Compliance and Risk Management:
   • Ensure compliance with the Sub-Grant Agreement, including the Environmental and Social (E&S) screening and categorization of activities.
   • Identify and mitigate risks that may affect project implementation, including security, logistical, and operational challenges.
   • Report any incidents, grievances, or compliance issues to the Executive Director and the Grantee in a timely manner.
