Description

The Project Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day implementation of the project “Strengthening Women’s Rights Organizations and WPS Networks to Advance Equality in Iraq.” The Coordinator will ensure that activities are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with the project’s objectives, particularly focusing on capacity building, advocacy support, and coordination mechanisms for WROs and WPS networks.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Key Responsibilities
· Lead the operational planning and coordination of all project activities, ensuring effective implementation across target locations.
· Supervise field teams and ensure activities are aligned with the project work plan and donor requirements.
· Coordinate the selection and capacity development of five WROs and one WPS network, including needs assessments, training workshops, and mentorship.
· Facilitate and oversee the provision of advocacy grants, ensuring transparent selection, disbursement, monitoring, and reporting.
· Organize and lead coordination meetings and policy dialogue platforms between WROs, WPS networks, and stakeholders including local authorities, CSOs, and international agencies.
· Liaise closely with WEO’s and GIZ’s MEAL team to ensure proper data collection, outcome tracking, and beneficiary feedback.
· Monitor progress and prepare regular internal and donor reports on project status, achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
· Ensure compliance with donor guidelines, internal policies, and national regulations throughout project implementation.
· Represent WEO in relevant forums, coordination groups, and external meetings related to WPS.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, development studies, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an asset.
· Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience managing women-focused or civil society strengthening projects.
· Demonstrated understanding of UNSCR 1325, INAP, and the WPS agenda in Iraq.
· Proven experience working with WROs, CSOs, or feminist movements.
· Strong skills in project management, coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
· Excellent communication and facilitation skills; ability to lead training sessions and public dialogues.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; familiarity with monitoring and reporting tools.
· Fluency in Kurdish, Arabic and English is required.
· Willingness to travel regularly across project locations in federal Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
