Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Programs, the Project Coordinator shall perform the following duties:
· Oversee and manage all phases of project implementation in coordination with the Director of Programs, ensuring effective delivery of climate-resilient interventions in areas affected by dust and sand storms, in line with project objectives and environmental sustainability standards.
· Develop detailed work plans, implementation schedules, and budget breakdowns for all project phases, guiding field teams and relevant departments on activities related to climate-resilient land restoration and ecosystem rehabilitation.
· Ensure timely, high-quality, and cost-effective delivery of project activities within the approved scope and budget, in accordance with donor requirements and climate-smart environmental practices.
· Coordinate closely with project teams, field staff, consortium partners, government counterparts, private sector actors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of climate-smart agriculture, women’s economic empowerment, market systems, and community resilience activities.
· Monitor project progress against planned targets and indicators, regularly assess implementation quality, conduct field visits, and prepare comprehensive weekly, monthly, quarterly, and final narrative reports for internal and external stakeholders.
· Facilitate coordination and communication with donors, local authorities, environmental agencies, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment, compliance, and smooth implementation of project activities.
· Ensure systematic documentation of all project phases, including field data, technical reports, monitoring records, and lessons learned, and maintain proper archiving systems in both hard and digital formats.
· Coordinate with finance, procurement, logistics, MEAL, and HR departments to ensure efficient implementation of project activities and effective utilization of project resources.
· Supervise project staff, consultants, trainers, and service providers, providing technical guidance and ensuring quality implementation of assigned activities.
· Perform any other related duties as requested by the Director of Programs to support effective implementation and achievement of project objectives.
Required Qualifications and Skills
· Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Environmental Studies, International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
· Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in project management or implementation of donor-funded development projects.
· Experience in climate resilience, agriculture, livelihoods, women’s economic empowerment, or market systems projects is highly desirable.
· Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic; Kurdish is an asset.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with project management, monitoring, and reporting systems.
· Strong report writing, planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
· High level of professional integrity, accountability, and ability to maintain confidentiality in a diverse workplace.
· Willingness and ability to undertake regular field visits and travel to project locations as required.
· Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends when required to meet project deadlines and operational needs.
