The Role:

Oxfam GB is looking for a Project Coordinator to Coordinate implementation of the Norad Funded Rooted in Diversity: Partnerships for Food Security and Livelihoods Project which started in January 2024 and end in December 2028 with an initial contract of 2 years.

We’re looking for a candidate who cares about Oxfam’s mission to end poverty and is personally aligned to our feminist principles and values of empowerment, accountability and inclusion in all you do.

 

An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:

  •  A Masters’ degree in Agriculture, Social Development & Sustainable Livelihoods, Agriculture economics, Crop Sciences, Nutrition, or other relevant field.
  • 10+ years of experience in development work, preferably within a large development or humanitarian organisation; experiences in promoting agrobiodiversity and nutrition in food system programming preferred.
  • Be knowledgeable on promoting local food systems initiatives in Malawi 
  • Be knowledgeable of status of nutrition policy and food system transformation policy frameworks in Malawi
  • Experienced in Farmer Field Schools (FFS) approaches
  • Knowledge of programme development and delivery approaches, tools, methodologies and best practices; 
  • Understanding and appreciation of the impact of HIV & AIDS on the rural communities in Malawi as well as the importance of gender mainstreaming in all programming. Previous experience in handling donor funded project especially with large grants
  • Strong experiences in advocacy and policy influencing, preferably within the nutrition and food system sector
