HPIC is a Canadian registered charity dedicated to improving health for the world’s most vulnerable. HPIC has been active since 1990, implementing health projects through partnerships with Canadian medical mission teams, Canadian and international NGOs and local organizations.
The strength of HPIC rests in its collaborative working model that brings together different actors in the health care system. Every year, HPIC reaches about 1 million people with health care services and medicines through a well-established network of donors, volunteers, and global NGO partners.
One of HPIC’s greatest assets is its extensive experience implementing health programs that target women and children. Over the years, HPIC has successfully executed numerous women’s and children’s health projects, ranging from training and equipping midwives and nurses at health facilities, raising awareness among local communities on harmful traditional practices and their health complications and consequences, improving the health of mothers, pregnant women, newborns and children in underserved areas of Kenya, Ghana, Ethiopia, Lebanon and the DRC.
As part of its strategic initiative, HPIC plans to implement a community health project in Cote d’Ivoire. For this, HPIC is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Project Coordinator (or Consultant) to lead the implementation of a Community Health Project in Côte d’Ivoire. The successful candidate will be crucial in overseeing project coordination, stakeholder engagement, monitoring and evaluation, and community consultations in the Zouan-Hounien sub-prefecture of the Tonkpi region in Cote d’Ivoire. This position requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and impact of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate all project activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations and coordinate all project activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs and community leaders.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for partnership and resource mobilization.
• Lead and facilitate consultations with community members to understand their health needs, concerns and priorities.
• Develop and implement strategies to address real-time issues, ensuring project success.
• Conduct regular field visits to ensure the smooth functioning of the project activities.
Education Qualifications and Skills:
• Degree in social work, public health, or any other relevant field
• 1-2 years of proven experience in project coordination, preferably in community development or related field in Cote d’Ivoire.
• Strong understanding of public health issues and community development.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
• Knowledge of the local context and cultural dynamics in Cote d’Ivoire.
