About the Role

Community Solutions are proud to be a Skilling Queenslanders for Work provider (SQW) offering projects that improve skills and employment opportunities for people seeking employment within our local communities.   

Joining our Gladstone team as a Project Coordinator, you will take the lead on all operational aspects of delivering our Community Careers project. Working with our Registered Training Organisation (RTO) partner, this project will deliver accredited training in the areas of Infrastructure and Resources plus construction, along with personalised support for participants. You will oversee the recruitment of participants, non-accredited work readiness training and project reporting. 

The core focus of this project is to support our amazing participants on their journey to sustainable employment by helping them gain nationally recognised skills and qualifications, a potentially life changing step!

Other responsibilities: 

  • Supporting participants with a diverse range of personal and social issues and direct barriers to employment .
  • Creating individual training and personal development support plans for participants to enhance their opportunities to complete training and access employment.
  • Facilitating the provision of personal development activities as determined by individual plans, to develop vocational and employability skills and to empower participants.
  • Liaising with our partner RTO and local employers to maximise employment and training outcomes.
  • Undertaking and maintaining accurate documentation including case notes, report writing, and program data collection as required by CSG and the funding body.

What you will bring to the role:

  • An understanding of the labour market and the issues and faced by participants when planning to enter or return to the workforce including barriers to education, training and employment.
  • A sense of resilience and empathy to work with participants experiencing complex barriers.
  • Experience facilitating work skills sessions and small group activities and workshops.
  • A confident communication style: you are a true people person and can easily connect with others.
  • Strong IT and administration skills, you have experience recording case notes and completing Monthly Reports using MS Office Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail and prioritisation skills.

Additional requirements:

  • Right to Work in Australia i.e. Australian/NZ Citizen, Permanent Resident or visa with Permanent Work Rights – excludes visas with Temporary Work Rights.
  • A current Blue Card (Working with Children Check), or the willingness to gain clearance if successful. We will reimburse you the cost of the check on commencing.
  • Willingness to undertake a specific ”Fit2Work” Police Check.
