Job Description :
Cost Controllers are financial experts who help businesses manage their spending on projects. They work to deliver a project within its budget by estimating and analyzing costs including labor hours, supplies, and infrastructure.
Tasks and duties
Using spreadsheets and cost control software to analyze financial data.
Creating and analyzing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
Allocating costs to categories and business areas.
Tracking labor hours and verifying supplier invoices.
Analysing variances in forecasted profits and expenses.
Communicating with stakeholders.
Visiting project sites to observe workflows.
Planning and managing costs, project scope, and scope changes.
Project executing, monitoring, and controlling processes:

Responsible for all aspects of project cost control activities regarding scope. Process, monitor, and track changes following an integrated change control process. Prepare project cost expenditure forecasts and progress evaluations/projections (including Estimate at Completion updates and Earned Value Management with the scheduler) to support project performance and financial reporting requirements. Review project.

Project closing process:
Properly close the project by archiving work in financial, document management, and resource management systems/tools. Perform and communicate the final project completion cost assessment. Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement, lessons learned, and risk avoidance for future work.
Support successful project execution and promote continuous improvement within the team:
Identify, assess, and implement value-added improvement opportunities, which will improve overall project performance. Create and oversee the lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Education and Qualifications / Skills and Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, Accounting, Construction Management or related technical discipline.
Minimum 3 year of project control experience.
Preferred: 3 years of -project control experience in the position functional/technical area

Promote teamwork and effective communication, which includes maintenance and dissemination of project metrics to ensure team, customer, and all stakeholders are kept informed of project status. Update the Risks & Opportunities assessment matrix and adjust the necessary contingencies as a consequence. This role is broad and detailed, requiring a delicate balance of strategic oversight and close attention to project cost details. Below are the key responsibilities that define the role of a construction cost controller:
• Budget Preparation and Management: Develop and maintain the project budget; forecast project costs based on historical data, market trends, and project specifics.
• Cost Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly monitor actual project expenditures against the budget and forecast future costs. Prepare detailed cost reports and financial summaries to present to project managers and senior management.
• Change Order Management: Evaluate the financial impact of changes in project scope, including additional work or alterations, and incorporate these into the project budget.
• Contract Management: Work closely with the procurement team to manage contracts, including reviewing bids, making recommendations, and ensuring contract compliance regarding project costs.
• Risk Analysis: Identify potential financial risks associated with project delays, cost overruns, and other issues. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks.

• Collaboration with Project Teams: Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure cost objectives are met. Provide cost-related input and advice during project planning and execution phases.
• Financial Forecasting and Analysis: Use financial modeling to predict outcomes of project financial performance. Analyze variances between actual and budgeted or forecasted costs and recommend corrective actions.
• Process Improvement: Continually assess and improve cost control methods, tools, and processes to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of cost management.
