Job Description
The Project Director, under general direction, directs project management activities, functions, and staff for AgriLife Marketing and Communications. Leads interactions with AgriLife members and stakeholders in the planning and delivery of projects relating to executive communications, strategic opportunities, events, and media relations. Approves and executes project plans.
Responsibilities:

Oversee strategic organizational communication initiatives and special projects under general guidance from the Texas A&M AgriLife Assistant Vice Chancellor of Marketing and Communications.

This position serves as a key member of the marketing and communications team and serves in planning, development and execution of the strategic marketing, communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal for Texas A&M AgriLife.

This position works to build, strengthen, and disseminate the brand and mission of the agency to internal and external stakeholders like strategic partners and industry collaborators.

This position will implement proactive executive and organizational communications, as well as rapid response needs. This includes planning for organizational change as well as reactive issue management.

Directs project portfolios in line with marketing and communication brand strategies and in accordance with project management standards. Conducts meetings with stakeholders to schedule and coordinate project activities.

Provides recommendations for forward-thinking initiatives. Serves as a problem solver and provides creative and technical direction on communication matters.

Approves project plans including budget, timelines, resources, goals, and deliverables.
Ensures project quality control and assurance. -
Ensures current communications best practices are applied.

Directs and supervises project teams.

The ideal candidate will have a proven record in successfully managing complex projects, especially executive-level project management and cross-sectional collaborations.

Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ten years of related experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
-
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to work with internal and external executive-level clients, and effectively organize and plan on a detailed, task oriented basis.
