The Institute of Judicial Administration at NYU School of
Law (“IJA”) has a full-time position to spearhead new access to
civil justice initiatives, and conduct fundraising and publicity
for these initiatives as well as for existing IJA projects and
programs, including for our IJA Oral History of Distinguished
American Judges and scholarships for our New Appellate Judges
Seminar.
Founded in 1952, IJA is one of the oldest centers at NYU School
of Law, a world renowned law school located in the heart of
Greenwich Village in New York City. IJA continues today as a
leader in judicial education and a forum for non-partisan thinking
about the administration of justice. More than one-third of all
currently sitting state and federal appellate judges are alumni of
IJA training programs. The work of the Institute has become ever
more essential with the increasing workload of the courts, the
proliferation of federal and state laws, and the growth in the
number of lawyers, courts, and adjudicative tribunals.
The position reports to the Executive Director of the IJA. The
Institute is led by Faculty Director Samuel Estreicher, Dwight D.
Opperman Professor of Law, with a Board of Advisors consisting of
other distinguished practitioners, judges and scholars.
The role is a full time position based in New York City with the
expectation to be in the office a minimum of three days a week (or
more if required for IJA meetings or programs).
