About Hydrogen Europe Research
Hydrogen Europe Research is the leading European association representing the research community on hydrogen and fuel cells. The association comprises over 150 universities and Research & Technology Organisations (RTO), with members sharing their knowledge and expertise on all segments of the hydrogen value chain. Its mission is to promote, support and accelerate the deployment of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies by aligning the European R&D community and providing a stronghold for cooperation with industry increasing the impact of research in the sustainable shift to clean technologies.
Hydrogen Europe Research is one of the three partners, alongside Hydrogen Europe and the European Commission, of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership. As such, the association participates in all the activities surrounding the Partnership, from the identification of research priorities to the drafting of research and innovation topics that are ultimately included in the annual Call for Proposals of the Partnership.
In addition, Hydrogen Europe Research participates in EU-funded projects on hydrogen and is active on the EU policy landscape by promoting the voice of the European research community on current and future legislative texts.
As the activities within the association are expanding, Hydrogen Europe Research is looking for a Project and Innovation Officer that will be involved in the activities of the various current and future project Work Packages the association is part of. In addition, the selected candidate will provide support to the innovation activities surrounding the Clean Hydrogen Partnership.
The Secretariat of the association is based in Brussels. The position is offered full-time.
Job summary and main responsibilities:
European projects
The Project & Innovation Officer will be responsible for coordinating the activities in an INTERREG project in which Hydrogen Europe Research has taken the role of Advisor. The project will run for a period of 4 years.
- Organise and moderate seminars for project partners;
- Gather intelligence and identify best practices to facilitate partners policy changes;
- Leverage Hydrogen Europe Research’s expertise to support partners in developing regional hydrogen ecosystems and building capacity;
- Take an active role in the online meetings and study trips organised as part of the project.
Activities in other European projects could be considered in the future.
Innovation activities
The Project and Innovation Officer will provide support to the Innovation Manager in the activities surrounding the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, as well as in the Working Groups on Low TRL Research and Research & Technology Infrastructures.
- Support in the coordination of the activities of the Technical Committees and Roadmaps;
- Support to the Low TRL Research Working Group and Research & Technology Infrastructures Working Group;
- Close involvement in the mapping of Research and Technology Infrastructures undertaken within the association.
- Elaboration of supporting material on the research activities undertaken, for external representations.
Other missions may be elaborated depending on the interest of the applicant.
Required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- You have 3 years of relevant work experience (e.g. in European institutions, European associations, or in a consultancy in the field of energy).
- You have a Masters degree that provided you relevant education in European affairs with a specialisation in energy and/or a Masters degree in energy sciences.
- You are knowledgeable about hydrogen technologies and the EU energy policy landscape.
- Knowledge on the functioning of European projects, particularly of INTERREG is considered a strong asset.
- You are proactive and have a problem-solving mindset, with strong organisational and time management skills.
- You are confident with public speaking.
- You have good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint…), of videoconferencing tools (Zoom, Teams…), as well as of data analysis and visualisation tools.
