ACF Iraq is looking for 6 Project Interns who will serve Basra office.
- Work place: Basra with frequent visits to ACF areas of interventions.
- Type of contract: Initially 5 months Internship contract
- Working Hours: Maximum 40 hours per week
- Purpose of the position: Under the supervision and consultancy of the line manager, the project intern will be responsible for implementing and coordinating initiatives related to train and encouraging the farmers to use the drip irrigation system powered by the solar energy.
Specific Objectives:
Objective 1: Under the supervisor of ACF project team and collaboration with the other interns, conducting a series of training sessions to improve knowledge on transitioning from traditional irrigation methods to more efficient, water-saving, and eco-friendly drip irrigation systems powered by solar energy.
Objective 2: to be fully engaged in the mentorship program pairing experienced practitioners with new adopters to facilitate knowledge transfer and practical guidance
Objective 3: Support produces and dissemination of information to demonstrate the installation, operation, and benefits of solar-powered drip irrigation systems through consulting specialized people
Objective 4: Support launching a community-led initiative to monitor and report on the health and sustainability of agricultural landscapes.
Objective 5: Other duties
With supervision and support from the line manager, intern to communicate with all the project participants regarding activities location, time, and other requirements.
Follow-up the working plan submitted by the line manager.
Provide feedback to community.
Prepare weekly progress report including technical comments/feedback
Collect feedback and complaints from the project participants and other stakeholders
Conduct feasibility study, prepare feasibility reports
Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Recruitment Criteria:
Qualification/Degree: Newly graduated from Collage of Agriculture of the academic years (Between 2020 and 2024) the department of horticulture and landscape, and soil sciences and water resources or relevant specialties.
Professional Experience:
At least two years of basic knowledge in agriculture sector and water resource management, mainly in Solar and Drip irrigation systems.
Technical Skills:
Developing training material and co facilitation of the oresntuion presentation .
Basic computer skills, in terms of Microsoft office packages and email management.
Basic knowledge in drip irrigation systems, solar energy, and their financial and environmental benefits.
Has the ability to persuade people to switch to environmentally friendly agricultural technologies.
General Skills

Good communicator and familiar with training delivering
Attention to detail
Working with a minimum level of follow-up.Flexible with working hours.
Able to manage stress.
Respecting deadlines
Language Skills:
Arabic: Fluent
English: Basic
