The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Victoria, providing specialist knowledge and support to young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. Our vision is that young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds are connected, empowered and influential Australians.
About the Role
CMY are looking for an experienced multicultural youth worker to lead a preventative mental health project in partnership with CMY and headspace National, drawing on the lived experience of multicultural young people, families and communities to embed strengths-based approaches to address stigma, build cultural responsiveness and increase young people’s access to mental health supports.
- Hours: 22.8 hours per week (0.6 FTE), Part Time
- Fixed Term: until December 2026
- Base Salary (SCHADS Level 5_ ): $ 93,860 per annum plus Super and access to Salary Packaging

You will have
- Demonstrated experience in planning, delivering and evaluating programs for multicultural youth
- Demonstrated experience in recruiting, engaging and supporting young people as volunteers and staff, including leading training and capacity-building workshops for young people
- Demonstrated commitment to youth participation, co-design approaches, and community development principles, with sensitivity to issues affecting young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds
- Strong communication skills including the ability to effectively engage with a diverse stakeholders including young people, families, partner organisations and collaborate with staff across multiple regions
- Demonstrated organisational skills, with a capacity to be flexible and show initiative while meeting outcomes aligned with project targets, budgets and timelines
