The Centre is seeking to recruit a Project Management Intern (Data Responsibility Intern) to support the Data Responsibility team in increasing the adoption of data responsibility. The right candidate has the skills and abilities to provide support on drafting internal and external communication, preparation of calls, minute-taking, drafting meeting notes and summarising meeting outcomes.
The intern will report to the data responsibility team lead under the overall direction of the Lead for the Centre for Humanitarian Data. The incumbent will be expected to work closely with the rest of the Centre team.
Functional Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to:
- Preparing meeting agendas, drafting minutes and summarising meeting outcomes
- Supporting awareness raising and engagement on data responsibility with OCHA’s country offices
- Supporting internal and external communications to raise awareness and share outcomes on data responsibility
- Assisting trainings and workshops on data responsibility, including through the preparation of training materials and capturing learnings and feedback
- Translating documents and communications from English to Arabic
Training components and learning elements:
- The selected candidate will be exposed to a very dynamic area in the humanitarian space, where she/he will have an opportunity to learn about coordination, stakeholder management, reporting, administration and logistics. Data Responsibility is at the forefront of safe, ethical and effective management of personal and non-personal data for operational respons, which is particularly for young graduates in law and/or the social sciences.
Participation in missions or training courses:
- The selected candidate is not expected to travel for this position. The candidate is expected to be hired locally (i.e. national intern).
Education/Experience/Language requirements:
Education:
- Applicants must be enrolled in a university degree such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s, or have graduated within three years prior to the application date of the internship.
- Area of study should preferably relate to Law, International Affairs, or related Social Sciences
Language:
- Fluency in English (read, write, speak) is required
- Fluency in Arabic (read, write, speak) is required.
- Knowledge of any of the other UN official languages is an advantage.
