Your responsibilities
The Engineering (EN) Department at CERN is looking to refine its Quality Assurance plan in the areas of Project Management, Requirement Management, and Interface Management. This initiative involves key stakeholders such as the EN Department Head, EN Project Board, EN Group Leaders, Section Leaders, and Project Engineers.
We are seeking a methodical engineer with strong skills in quality management plan definition, project management theory, and experience with engineering and quality document management systems to support the Section Leader of the AQS (Accelerator Sector Quality Service) and the chair of the EN Project Board.
In collaboration with the stakeholders, you will:
- Review the current Project Management quality plan configuration
- Propose a set of documents to be created or updated for a new EN Department Quality plan
- Define, edit, and manage the approval of process diagrams to describe the QA process plan
- Create or update templates to be used for the QA plan
- Define a training plan for the EN department on the new QA plan
- Prepare and deliver training materials and sessions
- Organise the logistics of the training plan
- Depending on personal interest you could be the teacher for the training classes
- Support EN members in effectively using the plan guidelines and procedures
- Continuously update the plan based on user feedback to simplify and optimize its efficiency

Your profile
Skills and/or knowledge
The ideal candidate will have:
- Direct experience in industrial infrastructure project management as a project leader or in quality assurance/control roles
- Proven experience in constructing a quality assurance plan for project management would be advantageous
- Knowledge of workflow definition tools, with willingness to learn draw.io
- Good communication skills
- Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage
Eligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- You have a professional background in Engineering or Project Management (or a related field) and have either:
- a Master’s degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;
- or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.

Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.
Target start date: 01-July-2024 (or later, it is negotiable)
