Project Summary  

Joint Initiative for Strategic Religious Action (JISRA) is a partnership of 50 civil society organizations based in Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iraq, Kenya, Mali, Nigeria and Uganda (with supporting lobby and advocacy in Europe and the USA). This international, interreligious partnership is implementing a five-year programme (2021-2025) in partnership with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to further peaceful and just societies where all enjoy Freedom of Religion and Belief (FoRB). Peace and Freedom Organization is Implementing the project in Sheikhan districk 

The basis of the programme is JISRA’s conviction that Freedom of Religion and Belief and interfaith dialogue are essential and integral to the realization of peaceful and just societies. In addition, diverse religious actors, including women and youth, can and need to play an important role in this process as change makers. JISRA believes their voices must be heard.

Main Tasks

  1. Project Planning:
  • Develop a comprehensive project plan, including objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope and requirements.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Assemble and lead a project team.
    • Provide guidance, support, and motivation to team members.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Communicate with project stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of project goals.
    • Regularly update stakeholders on project progress.
    • Address concerns and feedback from stakeholders.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks and develop a risk management plan.
    • Implement strategies to mitigate and manage project risks.
  • Budget Management:
    • Develop and manage the project budget.
    • Ensure resources are allocated efficiently.
    • Monitor and control project expenses.
  • Timeline Management:
    • Develop and maintain a project schedule.
    • Ensure that project milestones are met on time.
    • Adjust timelines as needed based on project changes.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
    • Keep records of project activities, decisions, and changes.
    • Ensure documentation is accessible to relevant team members.
  • Conflict Resolution:
    • Address conflicts within the project team.
    • Mediate and resolve issues among team members.
  • Reporting:
    • Provide regular project status reports to leadership and stakeholders.
    • Highlight achievements, challenges, and upcoming milestones.
  • Knowledge Transfer:
    • Facilitate knowledge transfer within the team.
    • Ensure that team members are equipped with the necessary skills and information.

    REQUIERMENTS/ QULFICATIONS & PREFERED SKILLS

    • Knowledge and understanding the national and regional conflict dynamic in Iraq.
    • Strong networks in peace work.
    • Strong inter-personal, negotiating, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication skills with divers groups of stockholders, local and national authorities.
    • Excellent written and oral communication with relevant computer skills.
    • Demonstrate ability to manage religious sensitive and situation.
    • Strong personal integrity and commitment to accountability.
    • Able to work independently and with team. Able to prioritize and self-motivation.
    • Represent PFO organization in meetings that relevant in Peace building topic.
    • Degree in peace, Political Science & international relations, Education or any relevant.
    • Minimum three years’ experience working in related projects management.
    • Strong oral and written communication in English, Arabic and Kurdish language is preferable.
    • Report written skills.
