Plan has been working in Cox Bazar to respond to the Rohingya refugee influx since 24 September 2017 implementing the following key objectives: 1. Ensure girls and boys affected by the crisis are protected from violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation through appropriate prevention and response interventions in line with minimum standards. 2. Reduce the transmission of disease from fees to mouth through the promotion of good hygiene practice and the reduction of health risks related to poor sanitation 3. Restore and increase access to safe quality and inclusive educational opportunities for refugee children and adolescents (girls and boys) affected by the Rohingya crisis.

The role:

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organization that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. The Rohingya crisis is the largest and most complex humanitarian crisis in the Indo-Pacific region with over 1.2 million people needing humanitarian assistance in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. Plan has responded to the Rohingya crisis across Ukhiya and Teknaf camps and nearby host communities (including Ukhiya, Teknaf, Ramu and Cox’s Bazar Sadar) to deliver a timely and appropriate (quality and scale) response to the current situation. PIB is cognizant that its response should build strong links to the existing programs in Bangladesh and build’s on Plan’s experience on refugee responses.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the Joining Forces for Food Security and Child Protection in Emergencies (JF-FS & CPiE) project funded by GFFO in compliance with Plan International Bangladesh’s finance and accounting policies. S/he will be responsible for the delivery of commitments and reporting to donor. The Project Manager will oversee the local implementing partner organization, providing necessary support and building their capacity for successful project implementation. Collaboration and coordination will be essential in this role. The Project Manager will work closely with the CPiE technical lead, CPiE Technical Advisor, SOYEE Lead, SOYEE Advisor, Specialist- Food Security & Livelihood, Technical Specialists, M&E Specialist, and other relevant departments within Plan International Bangladesh, as well as with the implementing partner BITA. S/he will also ensure project implementation meets the global/organizational standards of emergency responses and donors’ compliance aspects; ensure project monitoring mechanism is established and functional to ensure quality implementation and downwards accountability.

What we’re looking for:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to join our team, meeting the following criteria. A university degree in Social Sciences or a related field such as international relations, humanitarian studies, education, or development studies. Knowledge and Standards: Strong understanding of Do No Harm principles and other humanitarian standards, including child protection minimum standards (CPMS). At least five years in child protection, including three years in a managerial role; expertise in CPiE issues; experience with CPiE, food security, and livelihoods projects; implementation through partner NGOs; prior experience in the greater Chittagong Division (knowledge of Chittagonian or Rohingya is a plus). Strong project management, budget management, and analysis skills; proven leadership in project implementation, problem-solving, and decision-making; experience managing CPiE humanitarian projects; ability to support and train staff and work sensitively with disaster-affected communities. Excellent written and oral communication; effective negotiation and representation; positive, collaborative, trustworthy, and fluent in English and Bangla. Experience designing and delivering training and other capacity-building initiatives for diverse audiences. Proficient in Excel and Word; strong gender and diversity awareness; accurate self-assessment in high-stress, high-security contexts. A clear commitment to Plan’s core values and humanitarian principles; understanding of child safeguarding and equality for girls. Experience in humanitarian settings with refugees or IDPs; conducting Child Protection needs assessments; familiarity with Plan policies, Sphere standards, and the Red Cross/NGO Code of Conduct.

Salary Package for this role is BDT. 129,798 fixed monthly Gross along with other benefits i.e., hospitalization benefit for spouse and children, contributory provident fund, gratuity, festival bonus, leave, group insurance and yearly medical check-up for employee.

Project duration up to August 2026 and selected candidate will get initially one-year contract for this position and highly possibility for extension based on performance.
