The Nigeria INGO Forum (NIF) was established in 2014 to facilitate collaboration among international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) in Nigeria for humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding efforts. It serves as a vital platform for information sharing, advocacy, and engagement with authorities, donors, and the UN, ensuring the inclusion of INGO perspectives and those of affected populations in decision-making. Governed by a core membership of 58 members and nine observers, it operates under a Steering Committee comprised of five Country Directors and a Chair, supported by a Secretariat.

PLRCAP (Promoting Local Response Capacities and Partnership) is an initiative of the Nigeria INGO Forum, accompanying Nigerian local and national civil society organizations in their organizational growth and development. Through its NGO Support Hub, which includes digital learning tools, communities of practice, and information and visibility databases, Nigerian NGOs can develop organizational plans, access technical assistance, learn and share with peers and experts, find partners, and increase their visibility. The Hub also conducts specialized learning journeys and hosts bi-weekly NGO expert webinars to foster peer learning and dialogue. To ensure effectiveness and relevance, the Hub and its partners conduct research and knowledge-sharing activities, including mappings and reviews of Nigeria’s civil society, identifying challenges and success strategies.

What you will do:

  • High level representation of PLRCAP interests in external meetings and planning efforts nationally. 
  • Manages the PLRCAP team and PLRCAP operations and provides strategic oversight of operations.
  • Supports the Technical Lead and NIF Director in budgeting, budget management and accountability
  • Develop and supervise detailed project work plans and schedules.
  • Oversee administrative tasks, including procurement and contracts.
  • Ensure program objectives are met within the specified timeframe and budget.
  • Monitor and adjust project plans as necessary to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Oversee programmatic and financial reporting, and identify and address potential issues proactively, taking corrective actions when needed.
  • Develop a comprehensive implementation strategy tailored to Nigeria’s context.
  • Plan and manage resource mobilization efforts to support program activities.
  • Support program implementation through thorough assessments, baselines, budget planning, monitoring, evaluations, field visits, and reporting.
  • Design, implement, and monitor training and mentoring programs for Nigerian NGOs.
  • Ensure the creation and maintenance of capacity-strengthening resources/platforms.
  • Facilitate learning and development opportunities for partner organizations.
  • Monitor and manage project spending according to the approved budgets.
  • Ensure financial compliance with donor requirements and organizational policies.
  • Prepare and present financial reports as required.
  • Oversee external communication and visibility efforts for the project.

What you will bring:

  • An advanced university degree or equivalent experience in education, information management, development studies, or a related field.
  • At least five years of relevant work experience in national/international non-governmental organizations.
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering training content, preferably focused on adult learners.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting needs assessments, managing data, mapping and visualization, and providing coaching and training.
  • Experience in project development, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting is desirable.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and relevant data management software.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
