Hours: 7 hrs/day with flexibility around core hours
Fixed term 14 month contract with the potential to become permanent
Location: Home-based but options to work from London office
Start date: As soon as possible

The role

Parity Projects are looking for a professional project manager with experience of managing complex funded
projects to manage our portfolio of funded projects, all of which aim to speed the UK’s journey
to net zero carbon.

Parity has a number of in-flight and upcoming projects, and the successful applicant will be at
the heart of the most innovative parts of the business. Parity is a small company (just over 20
people). We are looking for a well organised and dynamic individual who can focus fully on the
project management aspects of these projects, and will:

  • Lead and manage end-to-end project lifecycles, including project planning, execution,
monitoring, and closure, ensuring timely delivery of project objectives and milestones.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets ensuring effective resource
    allocation and utilisation.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, implementing
    mitigation strategies to minimise impact.
  • Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, workshops, and presentations, ensuring
effective communication and collaboration across teams.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, providing regular status updates, reports, and
recommendations to senior management, stakeholders and funders.
  • Drive change management activities, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes, systems, and
    initiatives.

As a small company we expect the project manager to be keen to take a proactive role in driving
the success of a project, assisting with other aspects of project delivery when resource allows
and where appropriate.

The role is a temporary position with potential to become permanent. Whilst we do have an
office based in South London, most employees choose to work remotely from their home. This
arrangement works well for us, and our staff regularly have meet-ups online and in person. The
preferred working location and times can be discussed at the point of interview.

The person

The role would suit an individual committed to driving progress towards net zero CO2. The
successful applicant will have several years of professional experience of managing projects
(ideally including projects funded by UK government, Innovate UK, or UKRI). They will be
capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and subject matter experts
to deliver impactful business solutions.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Proven ability to lead and manage end-to-end project lifecycles, including project
planning, execution, monitoring, and closure, ensuring timely delivery of project objectives
    and milestones.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets ensuring
    effective resource allocation and utilisation.
  • Experience of projects funded by UK Government or public bodies
  • Excellent stakeholder and communication skills.
  • Methodical and meticulous approach
  • Enthusiasm for decarbonising homes

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Three or more years of project management experience
  • Working towards, or already have, a degree or equivalent experience in a relevant subject
  • Project management qualifications

If you believe you meet the criteria, then you would love to hear from you. If you believe you
would add value to our organisation but don’t meet all the criteria we have laid out in this
advert, then we would still love to hear from you – above all we try to recruit enthusiastic
and capable individuals. Please explain the value you would bring in your application.
