JOB PURPOSE:
The Project Manager will lead grant management, coordination, and knowledge sharing and creation. The Project Manager will be part of Oxfam’s Global Food and Economic Security Team and participate in team activities such as regular meetings, joint planning, and learning events.
The Project Manager will coordinate two independent projects:
- Improving gender sensitive and local NGO engagement in Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) processes and other food security analyses in Lebanon and one other country. The project is financed by the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
- The other project has a strong learning objective and focus on Group Cash Transfer, gender, and local humanitarian leadership. This project is still awaiting final approval from the donor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communication and Learning
- Lead and contribute to knowledge creation and knowledge products, including publication and dissemination of project outputs.
- Lead internal and external communications about the project, including knowledge sharing, reports and social media communications as required.
- Support and contribute to the gathering of evidence to enable learning and innovation.
- Contribute to participatory and inclusive learning processes.
Project Implementation
- Lead high-quality grant management.
- Use Oxfam’s safe programming approach to identify and effectively mitigate/manage project risks
- Promote collaboration and lead regular meetings with the coordination teams of the two projects, including country office staff and partners, Oxfam Denmark and GHT team.
- Facilitate strong coordination with Finance Teams and support timely financial management and reporting.
- Facilitate and support a strong gender and local humanitarian leadership lens throughout the project cycle.
- Facilitate coordination and synergy internally with other relevant Oxfam programs and staff, including global staff providing technical support to the countries and projects, and externally with other INGOs, NNGOs, UN agencies, clusters etc.
System and Information Management & Donor Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with Oxfam and donors’ funding requirements and timely preparation of high-quality project reports.
- Lead on internal system management (including Box, OPAL project creation, updating, and closure) and management of project information.
- Establishment of project management systems and data storage within Oxfam’s programme management systems and databases in line with Oxfam requirements
Participation in Oxfam’s Food and Economic Security (FES) Team, Gender Team and other relevant Humanitarian Teams
- Participation in Oxfam’s GHT FES Team, including participation in team meetings, planning, and learning events. Participation more widely in relevant GHT meetings, etc.
- Active citizenship within the Oxfam community, including in cultural working groups and initiatives relating to goals on feminism, anti-racism, and respect for diversity and inclusion.

- Strong understanding of the humanitarian system and experience working in at least one of the following areas: Food and Economic Security, Local Humanitarian Leadership, Gender in emergencies.
- Excellent teamwork skills, and a track record of building trust within and empowering large teams, also over distance
- Proven influencing, negotiating and networking skills with internal and external audiences.
- Ability to coordinate input from a diverse stakeholder group for project delivery.
- Ability to understand budgets.
- Ability to take initiative and make decisions with limited support in fast moving environments and virtual teams
- Ability to travel for one or two short trips per year.
DESIRABLE
- Working knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable.
- In-depth understanding of relevant humanitarian principles and policies
- Knowledge and experience of OPAL and / or Crimson.
