Bat Conservation Trust

tendersglobal.net

Bats are remarkable animals and an important part of our natural environment. The Bat
Conservation Trust (BCT) is proud to be the leading non-governmental organisation devoted
solely to the conservation of bats and their habitats. Our mission is to secure the future of
bats in a changing world. BCT works to create a better world for bats and runs a range of
different projects and initiatives. BCT’s head office is in Battersea, London. We also work in
Wales and Scotland and have remotely based staff in other areas.

This role will project manage our new partnership project: Connecting People and Landscapes in
a Changing Climate, made possible by funding from the Heritage Fund (thanks to National Lottery
players) for an 18 month development phase. We will work with land managers leading in the
field of regenerative agriculture to share and develop best practice and transfer knowledge,
training a new, more diverse generation in sustainable farming methods. The project will result
in enhanced habitats supporting wildlife and improved connectivity, enabling dispersal and
range expansion of species.

The project will connect local communities to nature, increasing their understanding of farming
and the regenerative agriculture approach, resulting in reduced feelings of isolation in
farmers. We will upskill volunteers and trainees, expanding access to nature to new and more
diverse audiences.

The project is being led by Bat Conservation Trust (BCT), working in partnership with: Devon
Communities Together (DCT), Devon Wildlife Trust (DWT), East Devon AONB (EDAONB), Knepp Estate,
South Devon AONB (SDAONB), People’s Trust for Endangered Species (PTES) and University of
Exeter (UoE). Project staff will be hosted across the partnership, with roles based at BCT,
DWT, SDAONB and UoE, and expertise provided by the other partners.

We are seeking an experienced project manager to lead the 18-month development phase of this
new project. You will be extremely organised and used to working in partnership with others.
You will have a good understanding of finance processes and reporting to funders, as well as
experience in line management. You will have the ability to drive this exciting project forward
and to prepare for a submission to secure four years of delivery phase funding.

If you have the passion and experience to join our team and help us secure a future for bats
and the habitats that support them and wider biodiversity, please view the Job
