Job description
The Project Manager post is a fantastic role. Working with dozens of clients a year who work directly with those impacted by alcohol harm. You will be working alongside our Senior Training and Consultancy Manager and our small team of skilled associates, responsible for preparing bids, helping to design project content and project managing a range of large contractual projects. This work will all make a difference, and you will be creating impact, while also delivering growth in income.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Bids and Securing Work
Identification of project bids with commissioners/local authorities
Supporting with the creation and submission of bids
Attending client meetings with prospects to discuss potential projects
Project Management
Determine and define project scope and objectives.
Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.
Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements.
Track project costs in order to meet budget.
Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.
Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
Monitor progress of projects and make adjustments as needed.
Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
Develop and enhance project and training evaluation.
Create post project analysis and reporting including a plan for long-term analysis and reporting to allow us to assess impact of our work.
Line Management
You will have direct line management for one team member and will be responsible for:
Agreeing objectives and work plans
Managing workload and performance through regular one-to-one line management discussions
Planning and implementing personal development programmes in all relevant skills.
Undertaking annual performance reviews
Other Duties
Work closely with colleagues across the charity to support their work and to act as ‘one team’.
Contribute actively and positively to charity-wide strategies.
Continually develop your knowledge of alcohol harm and solutions to it.
Act as a positive ambassador for Alcohol Change UK at all times.
Know, embrace and actively uphold the values of Alcohol Change UK at all times.
Work flexible hours as necessary to meet the needs of the charity, time off in lieu (TOIL) will be earnt for any work required outside of normal working hours.
Expected salary
£38333 – 41861 per year
