Project Manager for Interreligious Cooperation in Jerusalem (m/f/x)

The Civil Peace Service (CPS) is a program for violence prevention and peacebuilding in crisis and conflict regions worldwide. For many years, CPS has supported civil society organizations in developing non-violent conflict resolution approaches, strengthening human rights and accompanying communities affected by trauma. CPS work is based on partnership, trust and long-term commitment. Professionals contribute their expertise, learn from local experience and help strengthen structures for peaceful coexistence.

Sabeel is an ecumenical center for liberation theology based in Jerusalem. The organization operates at the intersection of theology, human rights and international law and promotes interreligious education and dialogue processes.

In a context where religion is increasingly instrumentalized to legitimize exclusive claims, Sabeel creates shared spaces for learning and dialogue among religious actors, aiming to strengthen human rights as a universal reference framework and to mobilize religious voices for a just peace.

Project Manager for Interreligious Cooperation in Jerusalem (m/f/x)

Your tasks

• You support the Director and the project management in the strategic steering and further development of Sabeel’s interreligious work, with a particular focus on the project “Faithful Futures.”
• You work closely with the project team to develop tools for results-based planning, monitoring and evaluation (PM&E) and accompany their implementation in day-to-day project activities.
• You prepare and facilitate team workshops, particularly on implementation planning, risk analysis and strategic development.
• You contribute to the conceptual design and implementation of professional conferences and interreligious dialogue formats.
• You provide technical input to the project team for the development of interreligious activities and educational formats.
• You develop and implement concepts for networking and outreach, with a focus on international interreligious networks.
• You collaborate closely with the communications team to develop training concepts for advocacy activities in the field of interreligious peacebuilding.
• You are responsible for the proper use and administration of financial resources on site in accordance with donor regulations and AGIAMONDO guidelines, working in close partnership with colleagues from the partner organization.

Your profile

• You hold a university degree, for example in international law, political science, management, religious studies, political theology or a comparable field.
• You bring solid knowledge and practical experience in project management; experience with EU-funded projects is an asset.
• You have experience in results-based monitoring and evaluation or are willing to further develop your expertise in PM&E approaches.
• Ideally, you have knowledge of Palestinian liberation theology or comparable context-specific theological approaches.
• You have experience in adult education, facilitation or training design.
• You work in a structured, analytical and team-oriented way and are confident operating in intercultural and politically sensitive contexts.
• You have an excellent command of English; knowledge of Hebrew and/or Arabic is highly desirable.
• You are willing to travel within the work context, for example to partner organizations in the West Bank.
• You hold a valid driver’s license and have sufficient driving experience.
• You are a citizen of the EU or Switzerland, identify with Christian values and with the goals and principles of church-based development and peace work.

The position is based in Jerusalem. While the city generally offers good infrastructure, it is currently characterized by a dynamic security situation. Due to limited flexibility for short-term relocation, this position is not suitable for families with children and is primarily aimed at single individuals or couples without children.

Work-related travel, including to the West Bank, is part of the role and is carried out in a context-sensitive manner and in line with security regulations.
