Project manager for office relocation project

During autumn 2025, DRC Headquarters and DRC Integration Hejrevej will move into modern and completely renovated office premises at Lyngbyvej 100, Copenhagen Ø. The aim of the project is to create an office that supports the work we do and that supports the well-being and performance of our employees. By 2025, the building will be extensively renovated by the landlord. The approximately 12,000 square meters will accommodate almost 800 employees who all have chosen to work for civil society and non-profit organisations. All tenants, including DRC, will become members of the Tenant Association (Lejerforeningen) which will be the governing body for the daily operations of the property. The expected move-in date is in the autumn of 2025.

As project manager for the relocation project, you will report to the Head of HR for HQ&DK (operational project owner), but you will also work closely together with the project group, including Facility Service and many other colleagues from Internal communication, IT, Supply Chain, HR and Finance. You need to be able to work together across all Departments and facilitate workshops and meetings. We also have an internal high-level steering group for the project. As we will move in together with many other NGO’s and civil society organisations, the project manager will also cooperate with the many other NGO’s preparing/designing the joint office facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall project planning, budgeting and driving of the project
  • Internal and external stakeholder management
  • Cooperation with external providers/consultants
  • Change management and internal communication
  • Foresee and mitigate risks and challenges that could derail the project
  • Coordination of internal project group members/experts within different areas and other internal contributors
  • Making sure DRC is ready to move in – responsible for all the detailed planning required

Project deliverables:

  • A model for shared facilities in the new building – development and operation with tenant association
  • IT set-up for new premises – shared set-up and DRC set-up
  • The move out of current offices and into new office – all practicalities
  • The DRC model for activity-based working
  • Change management and leadership
  • To be successful in this role we expect you to be able to work independently and to possess a high degree of emotional intelligence together with informal leadership skills. It is a significant advantage if you have previous experience with similar projects.

Required:

  • Strong project manager competencies,
  • Ability to work independently
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
  • Proven skills in stakeholder management and building relationships, incl. having the ability to lead informally across the organisation
  • Ability to communicate complex topics in a clear and concise manner to senior management and the rest of the organisation, both verbally and in writing
  • Ambitious and results-oriented with a natural can-do attitude Strong negotiation skills and generally high level of drive
  • Fluency in English and Danish (but you do not need to be native in either one)
