AETS has successfully delivered projects in over 180 countries worldwide. To do so, we rely on our offices in France (Lons – headquarters), Belgium (Brussels), Côte d’Ivoire (Abidjan), Thailand (Bangkok), Indonesia (Jakarta), India (New Delhi), and Ireland (Trim).
We are a multidisciplinary team with complementary backgrounds, among which economists, social scientists, lawyers, engineers.
The role:
AETS is hiring a Project Manager in the Social research and evaluation unit. The Project Manager will be involved in both project management and business development, with a focus on evaluation.
We are looking for applicants with knowledge, experience and understanding of EU policies and tendering process and project management rules (including EU framework contracts and further international donors preferably with experience in monitoring and evaluation and social research.
The role covers both acquisition of new projects through preparation of technical and financial proposals, and project management.
Responsibilities and tasks:
- Business development:
- Helping to grow the business by conceptualizing and drafting methodologies, including the negotiation and preparation of pre-bid agreements, and the preparation of expressions of interest; expanding the network of partners and identifying and selecting high quality experts;
- Identify and liaise with consultants and partners on the development of social research tenders and evaluations;
- Sourcing experts for our FWC project portfolio and others;
- Preparation of technical and financial proposals;
- Identify new business opportunities.
- Project management and daily management of contracts. This includes:
- Еnsuring the timely delivery of project activities and deliverables through a people-oriented management process (experts, partners, clients, colleagues) and while closely monitoring all aspects;
- Еnsuring the financial follow up of a project;
- Еnsuring adequate project reporting including revising experts’ inputs and participating in the drafting of reports;
- Provide support to experts.
- Depending on experience, participating in data collection and analysis tasks.
The above description is not restrictive. Depending on the profile, the PM will focus on one aspect more than another one.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Master’s Degree in economics, social science or similar;
- At least three years of experience as project manager on international donors funded project and EU policies;
- Basic understanding of and experience in programme and project evaluation and social research
- Capacity to deliver within tight deadlines;
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced commercial environment with serial deadlines;
- Commercial awareness and evidence of an entrepreneurial ‘can do’ attitude;
- Good attention to details;
- Excellent level of English and French;
- Fully computer literate.
Preferable:
- Experience working with EU and other donors’ framework contracts as well as with long term technical assistance projects;
- Qualitative and/or quantitative research skills;
- Other languages (Spanish and Portuguese).
