Project Manager – International Development

HIVE asbl, is a Brussels-based non-profit organisation supporting a range of partners with strategies to engage in presumed “high-risk” countries. HIVE leverages the Datastake platform to develop information management systems tailored to our respective objectives.

 

Start Date: Mid-July 2024

Primary Location: Lisbon or Brussels (remote positions may be considered)

Duration: initially 12 months

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Project Manager is in charge of administering projects, liaising with project partners coordinating the delivery of project objectives.

Initial scope: DRC, Artisanal & Small-scale Mining, human rights, Ecosystem preservation.

Tasks

  • Coordination of the successful implementation of specific projects / contracts
  • Identification of funding opportunities and lead role in the application process when required
  • Ensure that local partners achieve their objectives and expected results
  • Regular debriefing and coordination with HIVE’s Executive team
  • Support the financial manager
  • Familiarisation with Datastake (incl. M&E and Consolidated Autonomous Due Diligence (CADD) applications)

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in International Development, Economics or political sciences
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in managing international development projects
  • At least one relevant work experience in weak governance countries
  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Fluent in English and French

 

DESIRABLE

  • Experience in the field of artisanal mining
  • Experience in the field of tech innovation
  • Good knowledge / interest in solving challenges related to Central Africa.
