 Brief description of the organization

Al-Masalla Organization for Human Resources Development is a non-governmental organization registered in the Non-Governmental Organizations Department in the Federal Government and the Kurdistan Regional Government. Al-Mesalla has three programs: Nonviolence and peacebuilding program, which focuses on promoting peace and social cohesion within society, where our staff work to promote harmony and coexistence between different citizens, through the various activities that we implement in several Iraqi governorates. Women and Gender program that focuses on empowering women to play an active role in society and this is done through specialized courses and training to help and empower women economically and build their capacities in various fields. Human Rights Program: It focuses in particular on promoting community empowerment and building its capabilities in various fields, such as childhood development, economic empowerment, environmental development, and others. Also, since June 2014, the Al-Mesalla has developed its services to the refugee and displaced communities in Iraq, where it hastened to provide emergency support to the displaced by working in the camps, to help them overcome the humanitarian crisis.

Background of the project:

The project “Strengthening resilience and supporting livelihoods and peaceful coexistence of vulnerable groups ” led by Al-Mesalla Organization and the International Rescue Committee, aims to address critical challenges in the regions of Ramadi, Telkaif, and Baa’sheeqa. It seeks to assist vulnerable populations, including internally displaced persons (IDPs), returnees, and diverse host communities. Aligned with Iraq’s National Development Plan and the Humanitarian Response Plan, the project integrates social cohesion services and agricultural livelihoods. This approach ensures comprehensive support for both immediate and long-term needs, reflecting a commitment to resilience-building in the face of complex challenges

Project objective

Strengthen economic resilience, food security, and peaceful coexistence for individuals and communities affected by conflict, displacement, and COVID-19 in IS-liberated areas of Ninewa and Anbar

Job Description

The primary function of the Project Manager is to lead the whole project including the distribution of work tasks among project team, implementation follow-up, tracking results, and report writing. The candidate will be the person who approve all the document related to the project. She/He is the key person to contact the partner.

 

Key Responsibilities

 PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION

• Assist with the recruitment of the project staff, in coordination with HR, and the Managers.
• Facilitate regular project planning meetings with his team and help develop identify capacity-building needs to implement the project.
• Support the organization and facilitation of the activities of the project with the participation of the team, including leading on logistical arrangements.
• Regular communication with other Al-Mesalla staff and the local partner organizations.
• Preparing analytical reviews and systematically capturing lessons learned from the project implementation; identifying follow-up actions and provide substantial assistance in the design of project documents.
• Prepare monthly logistic needs for the project.
• In collaboration with project staff work to select participants for trainings.
• Coordinate with relevant stockholders and partners to lead the project in a collaborative and smooth manner.
• Establishing and maintaining good working relations with partner.
• Build strong relationships with Iraqi government institutions in the project implementation area.
• Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
• Volunteer work when needed is a part of TOR.

 

• Monitoring and Reporting
• Monitoring the project activities to ensure that meet the project plan.
• Follow up with project staff to prepare monthly plans and reports and promote a strong team spirit and providing oversight and guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions.
• Identify the challenges and success stories of the project.
• Monitoring and ensure the quality of the training that will be delivered to the community actors.
• Collect data and work on writing quantitative and qualitative reports and submit them to the partner in a timely manner.
• Provide high-quality activity and training reports.
