ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Project Manager, Sudan will oversee project implementation to ensure smooth, timely, and effective implementation of an 18-month project focused on enhancing information integrity. The Project Manager will be the main point of contact for this award and will work with the Sudan team and coordinate across MENA (Middle East and North Africa) departments.
LOGISTICS
This position may be based remotely in the MENA region. Our ideal candidate is located in Uganda, Kenya, Tunisia, or Morocco. Please note that there are some locations in which Internews is unable to engage staff, and that candidates must possess independent work authorization in their present location.

DAY-TO-DAY TASKS will include:
- Lead the implementation of the project and ensure full alignment with the project’s scope, timeline, and budget.
- Ensure project compliance with donor rules and regulations.
- Develop and track a detailed project workplan and regularly updated quarterly workplans.
- Serve as the focal point for donor communication and regularly liaise with the donor to provide project updates and coordinate synchronization of activities.
- Communicate with project partners on a regular basis to draft sub awards, track progress, and ensure that the project is meeting partner needs.
- Coordinate with the subgrants team to ensure subgrant related processes and procedures are consistently implemented throughout the program, including agreements, disbursements, and reporting.
- Track progress of the project and adapt the implementation approach when needed.
- Lead on project reporting including preparation, writing, and editing. Keep record of donor reporting calendar and requirements.
- Support tracking of the project budget and participate in BVA meetings in coordination with the finance team.
- Coordinate with M&E team to ensure accurate tracking of indicators and project deliverables.
- Coordinate across Internews departments to support with project implementation and reporting.
- Collaborate with the Sudan Technical Advisor on design and implementation of capacity-building activities under the project.
- Alert the Sudan Country Director of any potential risks related to the project implementation and/or partnerships related to the project.
- Regularly update the Sudan and MENA teams on project progress.
- Any other related duties assigned by the supervisor to ensure program success.

QUALIFICATIONS WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Required
- At least 5 years’ experience in project management and implementation in development and human rights sector with international organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in humanities, political or social science, international affairs, business administration, or related field OR equivalent lived/professional experience.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
- Previous experience with EU donors is preferred.

- Knowledge of the media development sector.
- Thematic knowledge related to enhancing information integrity.
