To support successful implementation of UNESCO IITE’s activities within its Action Area 1: Digital transformation and pedagogy innovation for future education, the Institute seeks a Project Officer who will 1) lead the day-to-day implementation of the UNESCO IITE’s projects on digital transformation of higher education, on promoting creativity in education through the use of digital technologies and on promoting the improvement of soft skills through media and information literacy building, and 2) contribute to the implementation of the project on promoting ICT capacity building and open education.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated experience in education project management working with government counterparts, international organizations, and development partners.
  • Provide the overall coordination of quality and consistent execution of planned activities, as well as preparation and monitoring of contractual arrangements in full accordance with the UNESCO Guidelines and Regulations.
  • Prepare the project-related documents and reports on ongoing project activities, including project reports for donors.
  • Liaise with national and international counterparts, partner organizations, institutions and relevant stakeholders, including UN agencies, National Commissions for UNESCO, and MoE of target countries, to enable the realization of the project activities.
  • Contribute to the organization of international and national educational events and meetings primarily related to innovative and ethical use of Artificial Intelligence and digital technologies in education, digital competencies of teachers, digital pedagogy, media and information literacy of teachers, digital transformation of education and other related fields.
  • Facilitate the coordination of training, courses and workshops organized within the DPLM Unit activities.
  • Contribute to the collection of data, review and qualitative analysis of strategic documents and production of publications on advanced educational practices, ICT competencies frameworks, digital technologies use in higher education and other related topics.
  • Provide informational support to local and international initiatives on the successful use of ICT in education and develop relevant news items, announcements, website updates and other communication materials.
  • Perform any other duties deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor or the Director of UNESCO IITE.

Requirements:

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Education, Social Sciences, International Development, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), or a related field.
  • At least two (2) years of relevant professional experience in the field of the use of digital technologies in education.
  • Fluency (written and spoken) in Russian and English is required.
