Q Shelter is seeking to employ a Data Analyst to work across the organisation to analyse and present data relating to:
- Business performance and improvements
- Program delivery and performance
- ESG and impact reporting
- Social trends and issues relating to unmet housing needs, homelessness and housing market trends.
This role will require an excellent understanding of statistical analysis and will be able to present data through relevant software applications. The role will involve managing information sources and using internal and external data to present dashboards and reports that are accessible and contribute to business-wide improvements as well as Program delivery. The successful applicant will be able to identify trends and issues and present these to people throughout Q Shelter in ways that assist in the delivery of high-quality programs and services.

- Familiarity with common software tools used for big data analysis. Power BI, MS suite, WordPress, Canva, SQL databases, R programming language, Python and others
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in using spreadsheets and dashboards
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis techniques
- The ability to communicate complex information effectively in multiple forms and verbally
- Mature outlook
- Action directions promptly
Qualifications and Experience
- The successful applicant will have relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Ideally the candidate will have qualifications in statistical analysis, advanced Excel skills and in using visualisation tools such as PowerBI.
- Skilled communication including clear and effective verbal reporting and a very high standard of written reporting.
- Ability to use software applications including client management systems to a high standard.
Employer
The employer is Q Shelter who will be responsible for employment contracts and human resource accountabilities.
Role conditions
- The role is initially funded to June 2025, with an anticipated extension subject to funding.
- Salary is SCHADS level 5.
- Q Shelter offers a flexible work environment. Hybrid working arrangements are supported.
- Q Shelter employees receive five-weeks’ annual leave per year (pro-rata for part time) and a paid Christmas shutdown period.
- Q Shelter employees also have access to not-for-profit salary packaging, which increases take home pay.
- Q Shelter staff are expected to work within a culturally safe framework and actively contribute to the implementation of Q Shelter’s Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan.
