ABOUT THE ROLE

The role of the Project Officer, Family Law Pathways Network is to provide coordination for the Coffs Harbour Family Law Pathways Network project. The Family Law Pathways Network is a national program for professionals working with Australian families who are separating or have separated and is funded by the Attorney General’s Department. It is made up of members from a variety of different community organisations within the region who share information and resources regarding post-separation services and aims to strengthen the regional legal and community interface and support service providers to achieve the best possible outcomes for separating families and children.

Key duties will include:

  • Organise and attend regular meetings, events, information days and annual conference
  • Provide a range of administrative and secretarial support services, including taking minutes of meetings, completing FLPN work plan, preparing reports and obtaining updated budgets
  • Build referral pathways and share information across family law services to ensure better outcomes for families within the family law system.
  • Provide a point of coordination for the Coffs Harbour FLPN steering committee.

This is a permanent part-time position working 15 hours per week and the days and hours of work are negotiable. However, this role will require the flexibility to work some evenings and/or early mornings to attend meetings or events.

As there is some travel required as part of this role, the successful applicant will be required to hold a current driver’s licence and have access to a reliable car.

The base hourly rate for this position is $39.90ph, plus 11% superannuation, access to NFP salary packaging and above award benefits such as additional leave on top of standard leave entitlements.

Key role requirements

  • Previous experience in a not-for-profit community organisation or other client service environment
  • Demonstrated experience in administration and secretarial skills, taking of minutes and written communication such as emails, newsletters and reports.
  • Demonstrated experience in project and event management
  • Knowledge and understanding of the needs of families who are experiencing separation or divorce.
  • Highly developed written and interpersonal communication skills, along with a demonstrated ability to network, liaise and negotiate effectively with a wide range of people.
  • Highly developed organisational and time management skills, with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Capable of working with online systems and technology, such as CRM, Teams and Zoom.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, unsupervised from required locations
  • Current driver’s licence and right to work in Australia

ABOUT YOU

You are passionate about working in a community services organisation and have a knowledge and understanding of the family law system and the needs of families who are experiencing separation or divorce. You are comfortable viewing and listening to sensitive subject matters.

You have strong capabilities in project, event management and administration skills, and good foundational skills in the use of technology and software applications, including the use of Zoom and Microsoft Teams. You have initiative and problem-solving capacity, you are organised, adaptable and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You also have the ability to work flexible hours and work autonomously.
