About the role

The Project Officer: Job Designer is a new and innovative role shaped from a co-design project involving people with disability, Customised Employment experts, and Employers. It is about improving awareness of Employers around the employment needs of people with disability and creatively designing and securing lasting job opportunities.

This pioneering role aims to refine our Job Design approach, which focuses on creating unique job roles, a commitment to facilitating job retention, and developing flexibility in the workplace. As a Job Designer, you’ll team up with employers from medium to large businesses to create employment opportunities, bolster organisational awareness, and ensure sustainable opportunities for success are created.

We are looking for an influential and dynamic team member who is highly motivated and understand employer and employee needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Nurture positive relationships with employers; co designing jobs for people with disability.
  • Inspire employers and HR systems to approach disability employment differently.
  • Implement highly innovative new approaches.

Skills and experience

Essential

  • Background in supporting people with disabilities, ideally within an employment setting.
  • Ability to deliver training; form influential relationships; inspire and communicate with employers, people with disability and their families.
  • Understanding of inclusive work practices and a commitment to driving change.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.

Desirable

  • Qualification or experience in Human Resources, Community Development or other Human Services profession, Occupational Therapy, Disability services, Employment services, or a related field.
  • Understanding of HR systems.
  • Professional skills in community development, community building or community organising.
  • Understanding of people with disability and adapting processes to their needs.
  • Experience in Customised Employment.

Pre-requisites

  • NDIS worker screening check
  • Proof of valid work rights in Australia
  • Current WA driver’s licence
  • Motor vehicle registration
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module
