Project Officer (Home based) with travel to the Isles of Scilly
Fixed Term 2 Year Contract Full time 35 hours
Salary £34,000 per annum

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Project Officer to be part of the Small is
Beautiful Project on the Isles of Scilly. As our Project Officer you will coordinate the
preparation of a land management plan comprising each participating farm holding and protected
site within the project area.

In this exciting role you have the opportunity to identify, map and develop management
prescriptions for rare species and coastal habitats, heritage features and seek to reconnect
habitats throughout a patchwork of regeneratively farmed fields. You will also utilise other
agri-tech and modelling data and provide technical support and input in capturing baselining
data and coordinate expert ecological surveys.

You will communicate effectively with local stakeholder organisations in the project area to
develop strong and trusted relationships and work to incorporate future climate and biosecurity
provisions into your work.

You will have a degree or equivalent experience in a relevant environmental, landscape
conservation, ecology and/or land management subject and have ecological survey experience
including knowledge of condition assessments used in biodiversity net gain calculations and
proven ability to motivate farmers and growers towards a shared ambition.

The role offers flexibility to be home based and to hot desk on the Isles of Scilly. If not
based on the Islands, there is an expectation that you will travel to the Isles of Scilly
regularly for multiple days as and when required and as such home working from a location in
the south west would be advisable.
