The role

As our Sanctuary Project Officer working within UMFC’s vision and values, you will lead the implementation of the Sanctuary Model.

Through this model, you will collaborate with all internal client-facing and operational services and stakeholders across UMFC to create a trauma-informed environment that promotes safety, empowerment and healing for employees and clients.

Your Experience

To be eligible for this role, a tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology and Counselling in addition to experience in project management and practice frameworks with measurable outcomes is required.

You will be a person who brings not just formal expertise, but a strong understanding and experience in trauma-informed practice. Your values and work ethic will also be underpinned by understanding the importance of safety in teams, and the social responsibility that comes with working with clients that have faced adversity in their lives. You will also have some knowledge of the Sanctuary Model and the theoretical basis in trauma theory.

Your open communication, strong facilitation and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, are paramount in effectively liaising with stakeholders. Your extensive experience in managing significant projects, including the ability to engage with external stakeholders to promote awareness of the Sanctuary Model will be highly desirable.
