Position Summary:
 
UCI Beckman Laser Institute & Medical Clinic (BLI) is internationally-recognized for research, innovation, and translational medicine – all under one collaborative umbrella. UCI Beckman Laser Institute & Medical Clinic inventions include new laser therapies for diseases that were previously untreatable, improving lives for tens of millions of patients worldwide.
 
As requested by the Beckman Laser Institute (BLI) Principal Investigators (PIs), incumbent uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of analytical practices and policies & procedures related to collaborative clinical research and federal regulations governing human subject research which are complex in nature and diverse in scope, and require compliance with university policies & procedures; researches, analyzes and develops solutions to a wide range of issues for clinical research related studies approved as specified in Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions for the coordination of research procedures and evaluations, and secure data collection for grant and Institutional Review Board (IRB) reporting. Primarily deals with policies, programs and proposals which are wide ranging, and requiring interactions with all levels of the University. Develops new programs, policies or procedures for PI consideration and possible implementation.

$66,700.00 – $118,500.00 (Annual Salary)

Required:

 

  • 3-5 years of demonstrated experience acquired in one or more of these areas: science, medicine, technology, and research. Direct experience in OnCore and UCI Health’s EPIC online system software packages.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing within a clinical, multidisciplinary research team environment. 
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain absolute confidentiality. Analytical / problem-solving skills. Effective in analyzing policy and problem solving skills to research and synthesize copious amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant analyses. 
  • Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes and frequent, multiple deadlines. 
  • Strong policy analysis techniques. 
  • Demonstrated experience with human subject research and informed consent for research process. 
  • NIH clinicaltrials.gov experience

 

Preferred:

  • Experience registering clinic participants in clinical research studies. CCRC (Certified Clinical Research Coordinator)

 

Special Conditions Required:

  • Travel to UC Irvine Clinics on and off campus and to the UCI Medical Center (UCIMC) in Orange, CA 
  • May be required to work extra hours during special events. 
  • Must pass a background check.
