The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank whose mission is Financing Infrastructure for Tomorrowinfrastructure with sustainability at its core. We began operations in Beijing in January 2016 and have since grown to 110 approved Members worldwide. We are capitalized at USD100 billion and AAA rated by the major international credit rating agencies. Collaborating with partners, AIIB meets clients’ needs by unlocking new capital and investing in infrastructure that is green, technology-enabled and promotes regional connectivity.
AIIB’s Investment Operations (IO) consist of three Vice Presidencies: (1) Investment Clients, Region 1 and Financial Institutions and Funds, Global (VPIC1), (2) Investment Clients, Region 2 and Project and Corporate Finance, Global (VPIC2) and (3) Investment Solutions (VPIS).
The Editor will provide expert editing services for Project Documents and related documentation, ensuring that each document is clear, consistent and suitable for its intended audience, mainly Board members. The Editor will also support the Vice President of VPIC1 with reviewing and editing of speeches and documentation as guided by the Vice President. Further, they will work closely with project teams, providing editorial support that maintains the integrity of technical content while enhancing readability and coherence, and will report to the Advisor on Project Quality (Assurance) in VPIC1.
Responsibilities
- Editing
- Review and edit Project Documents for clarity, coherence and readability.
- Ensure concise, precise and consistent language is used across all documents.
- Correct grammatical, spelling and punctuation errors while adhering to AIIB editorial guidelines and language standards.
- Content Structuring and Consistency
- Work with project teams to ensure logical structure and flow in Project Documents.
- Verify consistency in terms, definitions, and figures across documents and with referenced documents.
- Enhance document presentation, including section headings, tables, figures, and graphs, to ensure readability and alignment with AIIB editorial guidelines.
- Compliance with AIIB Editorial Guidelines
- Ensure alignment with the AIIB editorial and formatting guidelines.
- Familiarize with and apply the latest terminology, style, and branding guidelines used in AIIB documents.
- Technical Integrity
- Collaborate with project teams to understand complex concepts, ensuring technical accuracy while simplifying for broader comprehension.
- Ensure that project documents have the appropriate level of detail and specificity tailored to Board Members.
- Quality Control
- Conduct final quality control checks on Project Documents before submission, focusing on language quality, document flow, and adherence to AIIB editorial and formatting guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, International Development or a related field. In lieu of a Master’s degree, consistent employment with a track record of work in an editorial capacity would be considered.
- At least 5-7 years of professional experience in editing complex technical documents in development finance, international development or a related sector.
- Experience working with multilateral development organizations, is highly preferred.
- Proven expertise in editing and quality control for complex technical documents.
- Exceptional attention to detail, grammar and language skills.
- Familiarity with development finance and sector-specific terminology.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong understanding of project documents prepared by multilateral development banks.
- Familiarity with the editorial standards and guidelines used by the AIIB or other multilateral development banks.
- High level of proficiency in English, oral and written.
Previous experience and qualifications will determine the employee level at which a successful applicant will enter AIIB.
